THE MOVEMENT SHUTS DOWN OZONE AWARDS

 

This past Monday, August 11, Ozone Magazine held their 3rd
annual Ozone Awards in Houston, TX. You’ve read all the reports from those
other people, but here at 24horuhiphop.com, we are giving you what really went
down all weekend.

 

The actual awards show started 2 hours late as there were
issues with artists and their seating arrangements. Among that delay, the
infamous Mike Jone/Trae altercation
took place where Mike Jones was left with a bloody nose.

 

Once the show finally began, it was very unorganized; problems
with the sound system and too many breaks in between sets made the show longer
that it should have been. The show kicked off with performances from B.O.B, Rock City and Shawty Lo. The first three performances
made it seem more like a concert than an awards show.

 

The first award of the night was presented by Flo Rida & Letoya Luckett for best
collaboration which went to Usher
ft. Young Jeezy for “Love in the
Club.”

 

The tribute to Pimp C
featured performances from Too Short
who performed “Big Pimpin,” David Banner
and Big Boi who performed “International
Playas Anthem,” Lil Boosie and Webbie performing “One Day,” and Bun B closing out the set with “Angel
In The Sky.”

 

The West Coast also represented with their performance set
featuring Glasses Malone. The hype
on stage was so extraordinary that it seemed like the stage was going to fall
apart.

 

The audience also witnessed the return of Mike Jones, with a
bandage over his nose, as he came out to present the award for “DJ Honors” with
Grand Hustle artist Alfamega. Mike
Jones looked real nervous being on stage after what had taken place earlier in
the night. He did apologize for the altercation and told Trae, “If you going to
get me, then get me straight up.”

 

‘The Movement’ took the stage halfway through the awards
show with performances from Rick Ross,
DJ Khaled, T-Pain, Ace Hood, Brisco, Billy Blue and Ballgreezy. Rick Ross began the set by coming on stage with the
entire Poe Boy roster including Flo Rida, Brisco, Triple C, Billy Blue and Lil’ Brianna and began the set with “The
Boss” performing alongside T-Pain and DJ Khaled as Shawty Lo quickly hit the
stage to show love to Ross as he performed. Next T-Pain brought out his artist Tay Dizm to perform his single “Beam Me
Up” followed by DJ Khaled and Ace performing “Cashflow” and “Out Here Grindin.”
Before Ross could get into his next song “Here I Am,” it seemed as if T-Pain
was taking a shot at Akon by saying “Just to let you know, I wrote the hook to “Out
Here Grindin,” just in case Akon was trying to take all the shine.” The
Movement continued to take over the awards as Ross followed “Here I Am” with his
hit single “Hustlin.” Brisco immediately hit the stage after Ross to perform
his street anthem “Bitch I’m Me” to an overwhelmed Houston crowd who was vibin’
with the Opa-Locka Goon. Right after that, the DJ jumped into Billy Blue’s
street hit “Get Like Me” followed by Ballgreezy performing “I’m The Shit.”

 

As ‘The Movement’ departed the stage, the entire venue
started to leave as well, thinking that the awards show was over. The Movement
went to Houston and shut the Ozone Awards down…Literally.
