All-Star Team USA Basketball Wins Gold at the Olympics

Beijing, CH – After eight long years, the All Star players that combine Team USA Basketball wins in the finals of this year’s Summer Olympics in Beijing, China putting USA back at the top of the basketball throne where they so rightfully belong. The last time they won was back in 2000 at the Olympics in Sydney, then after losing in Athens in 2004.

Throughout all the games, it was interesting to see how other countries basketball teams could match up to the talents of USA’s NBA players. All star pros going up against other countries’ finest. All together, Team USA in all the sports at the Olympics has won a combined 110 medals in gold, silver, and bronze. Between athletes like Michael Phelps, Nastia Liukin, and Shawn Johnson, they made the 2008 games exciting.

Team USA beat Spain in a real close game, 118-107. The 4th quarter was where their talent and everything that they made of shined through within the last two minutes. The best of each NBA team across the U.S. put in their final effort and showed the world that they were unstoppable. This is their first U.S. medal since the 2000 Olympics. They went 8-0 unbeatable throughout the entire time span of the Olympic basketball trials.

Congratulations to Team USA for their combined effort and hard work in winning gold at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. This year’s summer games came to a close on Sunday (Aug. 24) with a spectacular closing ceremony as they did the same in the opening ceremony. The Chinese provided an excellent showcase when it came to both the opening and the closing ceremonies, they practically went all out with all the trimmings and the fireworks display. The 2008 Olympic Games lasted from August 8, 2008 through August 24, 2008. The next Olympics in 2012 will be held in London, England. We look forward to Team USA winning gold that year as well.

On the real, watching Team USA play international basketball with the other countries was like watching an All Star game with all the pros from each team. The way they performed on the Beijing court was amazing, between Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul dunking left and right, setups, rebounds, and assists, they dominated the international scene. Probably the only country to give them any competition was Spain and even that was an amazing game. I definitely look forward to the games in 2012 in London with the new names of athletes we have soon to know.

Exclusive T.I. Track Leaks to the Net

New York, NY – For the past decade, commercial leaked tracks have fallen victim to the internet and fans all over the net spurge on high level of overly indulging on retrieving the leaked track before it even hits the radio or the stores. It seems like nowadays, you can’t seem to hold a good track down anymore without the mastered original being posted somewhere on the net for the whole world to download and enjoy without prior consent from the artist nor the label. It’s quite obvious that individual artist, whoever that may be, must be in high demand because of all the ruckus one track can cause. The end results are questions on how the hell a disclosed track can leak so quickly.

The most recent artist was T.I., one of his highly anticipated and exclusive track leaked to the internet this past Friday (Aug. 22). That high profile track in question is interestingly titled ‘Swagger Like Us,’ and features heavyweightsKanye West, Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne. The song itself samples a verse from M.I.A.’s track ‘Paper Planes.’ Take my word for it the track is a certified hit.

The Bankhead resident spoke to MTV News via phone this past Saturday afternoon (Aug. 23), expressing his views on the whole situation.

“That’s some bullshit; I’m beating down the Internet as we speak. Don’t ruin the event; wait till the cake comes out the kitchen before you eat it. That’s like a kid who sees his toys before Christmas; it takes away from me and I think it takes away from the fans as well. When it’s time, I’mma give it to you. They leaked my record with me and The-Dream [“Like I Do”] too. Leakage is never a problem I have had. I’m not used to it.”

T.I.P. continued to omit that other tracks have leaked to net, some not even cleared to make the album cut, however the fans couldn’t wait. It’s understandable why he’s upset about the whole leak, the track being as exclusive as it is. It’s quite obvious ‘Swagger Like Us’ will make the track, as a matter of fact, Jigga expressed interest in the song that he told T.I. that he wanted it to grace his ‘Blueprint 3’ album. MTV continued to question on the process in the production of the high profile track and where the idea exhibited itself, these were his comments.

“It’s been done about a month. It was a song that Kanye and I had done first; me featuring Kanye. An idea had presented itself, ‘What if we included these people and made it an event record?’ and I was like, ‘That’s a very ambitious idea, but a lovely one.”

Regardless of his premature track leak, he still kept his humble tone and thanked his supporters.

“I really appreciate it, man; it’s definitely an honor, man, to be among the elite in the game. To have as much respect from them as they have for me is also a privilege. I just wanna live up to all the expectations.”

At press time, his next studio LP ‘Paper Trail’ has been set for a September 30 release date. Other confirmed guest appearances have been said to include: Usher, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, and his Grand Hustle label mates B.O.B. and Alfamega. T.I. has also been confirmed on the performance roster to grace the stage at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards slated to air on September 7.

I’ve been saying it over numerous amounts of time; the premature leaks are giving fans a serious early start. While it’s hurting the artist on a commercial level, let’s be real, in the long run it will assist in their record sales and if you disagree proof lies on the platinum sales of Weezy’s ‘The Carter III.’ Artists have to understand that if they are in such high demand, fans will eventually get their hands on that track, it is practically unavoidable and the industry execs know it. Besides, that wasn’t the only track that was leaked off T.I.’s ‘Paper Trail.’

Da Brat Sentenced to Three Years

Atlanta, GA – Apparently Remy Ma isn’t the only female Hip-Hop Artist serving time for a violent crime, another  prolific female artist will be joining the list serving hard time as well. This past Friday morning (Aug. 22), Atlantanative, Da Brat was convicted of felony aggravated assault and sentenced to three years in a Georgia state penitentiary.

Da Brat, whose real name is Shawntae Harris, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in an Atlanta courtroom sometime in November of 2007. The charge apparently stemmed from an incident that occurred in Jermaine Dupri’s ATL nightclub, Studio 72, last Halloween. Court documents state that Da Brat and a club waitress got into serious physical altercation. During the confrontation, Da Brat apparently reached for a bottle of rum and struck the waitress across the face causing her serious cuts and permanent scars.

According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Gail Flake handed down the judgment, while about six members of the rapper’s family quietly wept inside the courtroom. Da Brat told her relatives “I love y’all” as she was led out of the courtroom by sheriff’s deputies. “We love you too,” they replied. Within that same judgment she was also sentenced to seven years of probation and 200 hours of community service.

When was the last time this woman released a hot selling album or even a Top 40 single. She’s been riding the coattails of JD for over a decade. Her label mate Bow Wow even had platinum selling records before her. And now she has to serve three years for trying to act hard at the wrong time, honestly, that is some sad shit. She might as well kiss her career goodbye, if she hasn’t already. Besides, she won’t even serve the full three years anyway, unless she does something stupid and whooped some chick’s ass in prison. Either way, according to her preference, she’ll be right at home.
