Welcome to 2009!!! During the first few weeks of January our 24hourhiphop fashionistas got to work and did their research to find out what you thought were 2008’s hottest fashion trends.

We discovered the top 2008 trend was none other than jewelry. Where would Hip-Hop be without “Bling?” Big dogs like Pharell, Wayne, Fat Joe and many others fought for a place as the number stunner.

The guys’ vote weighed in heavy bringing Booty to spot number two.The top video vixens were Lola Luv, and Buffy the Body.

The third trend of 24hourhiphop 2008 was sunglasses. Hater Blockers hit the face of all our favorite celebrities last year, how could anyone forget Kanye West’s shutter shades phenom.

Last but not least the fourth trend was lace front wigs. In 2008 lace front wigs ruled.Women discovered a new freedom wearing these units. Some wearers say, “it’s like an instant make over.” So there you have it, jewelry, booty, glasses and hair, rank in as 2008’s must haves.Stay tuned for what fashion trends the 09’ will hold.

Hip Hop’s New Must Have Accessory

We figured it appropriate to stay on top of our Hip-hop jewelry since it was the number one trend for 2008.

It seems as if the entertainment industry has put their Jesus pieces away in exchange for rosaries. Even though rocking rosary beads started off as a Catholic trend, Hip-hop has embraced it and made it it’s own.You can catch celebrities like Flo-Rida, Brisco, Rick Ross, Jamie Fox and many others rocking their rosary beads.

And ladies this trend is unisex, these beads come in tons of different designs. Please get right and don’t get left, no pun intended, out of this rapidly growing trend for 09.”

Beyonce’s a Diva, so what does that make Ciara?
It seems as though Beyonce’s second single from her Sasha Fierce album, ‘Diva’ song has picked up on the air waves and in the lives of all the DIVAS around the world.

What can we say B has done it again! The song is so hot that Ciara decided to do a remix of the song with her own lyrics. She kept the same chorus but stuck her name, CC somewhere in there.

Now I know that remixing a rap song is second hand nature for hip-hop mix tapes but R&B artist rarely do this.On top of that, is it even cool for Divas to mimic anyone, let alone other Divas?

Or shall we say it like Beyonce, ”What she said, not to me, she aint no Diva!” Which category do you think Ciara falls in?
