DJ Scoob Doo & Lil Wayne Close to Unveiling The Nino Brown Story Pt. 2

Miami, FL – The upcoming DVD has been in high anticipation since MTV News aired previews from the documentary over the course of the Christmas break. Interestingly enough, quite possibly half of the entire video was recorded during Wayne’s ‘No Ceilings’ mixtape project that is now a huge hit of new material for 2010. Either way, the whole DVD is practically an up close and personal documentary with Lil Wayne, closer than ever.

The ‘No Ceilings’ mixtape has already caused a stir that he was anticipating amongst certain circles that his lyrics seem to affect and, of course, he is boosting about it. As we know Lil Wayne, we know that he has never been the one to hold his tongue for anything and if he feels like mentioning something in a song, he most definitely will. In yet another exclusive preview into the upcoming DVD, the new recording displays Wayne during some downtime away from his music recording. During this clip he mentions an ESPN show called ‘Jim Rome is Burning.’ Wayne stated that he enjoyed watching Rome go in on Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin and if you listen to Lil Wayne then you should remember when Kiffin was mentioned on the ‘No Ceilings’ mixtape on the track ‘Banned from TV.’ That basically made the coach the talk of sports media for the moment. Another interesting thing about Wayne is that he is definitely an avid sports watcher.

“[Rome] put what I said up [on the TV screen]: ‘Smoke weed, talk shit like Lane Kiffin,’ then he said Lane Kiffin said, ‘We don’t indulge in that.’ Rome said, ‘Little do you know, Lane, that you’re gonna be sitting in some high schooler’s living room and his mom is gonna call him from the back. And he’s gonna come up front and he’s gonna have an iPod on, and you know what he’s gonna be listening to? “Smoke weed, talk shit like Lane Kiffin.” You’re gonna have to say, “We’re cool with that guy you’re listening to.” You know what, Lane? This is a good day for you and Tennessee.’ I was like, ‘Nigga, Jim Rome crazy!’”

Lane Kiffin did in fact thank Wayne for the honorable mention in his twitter after the release of ‘No Ceilings:’

“Looking forward to another great practice today and a huge game Saturday. … Also a huge shout to Lil Wayne for boosting our street cred!”

Here’s another interesting anecdote about DJ Scoob Doo’s idea into the DVD series. This was his comments:

“It was about 5 o’clock in the morning. I was watching ‘New Jack City.’ I heard ‘Cash Money Brothers,’ I heard Nino Brown, I heard Tha Carter. I just shot up like, ‘Ugh.’ Next thing you know, I put a whole DVD together, which was ‘The Nino Brown Story, Pt. 1.’ I gave it to Wayne. He didn’t know what it was. He just knew it was called ‘Nino Brown.’ That’s how it was created. Now the Nino Brown story is the Lil Wayne story. We are going places with this I never imagined. The second DVD is 10 times better.”

At press time, ‘The Nino Brown Story, Pt. 2 hits stores on January 22. It is also available now at DJScoobDoo.com.

I’m actually looking forward to viewing this DVD. It’ll be good to know what exactly is on his mind when he gets down to the recording, especially this recent ‘No Ceilings’ hit. Look for the upcoming review to the DVD on 24hourhiphop.com by me or whoever can get to it first.

Lloyd Banks Arrested for Assault and Robbery in Canada

Kitchener, ON – Another loyal G-Unit member has been all over the news as of late, but not for good reason. It has been reported that Lloyd Banks was arrested for apparently assaulting and robbing a local promoter during a performance in Kitchener, Ontario in Canada.

According to Sergeant Brad Finucan of the Waterloo Regional Police’s Criminal Investigations, Banks, whose real name is Christopher Lloyd, and three associates got into a dispute with the promoter at a local hotel over payment for the performance and an appearance fee this past Sunday (January 10).

The promoter was allegedly held in his hotel room against his will, assaulted and robbed him early that Saturday morning. The lyricist and three associates — Nicklas Sloane, Shawn McGee, and Tyrell Cooper were named by the promoter as the assailants. All four men were charged with forceful confinement, aggravated assault and robbery. Banks and his associates made a video court appearance on Sunday afternoon (January 10) and are due to appear in court again early this week.

At press time, all four men are apparently still in custody in Canada and will be detained until further notice. Representatives for neither G-Unit nor Interscope have yet to make any comment about Banks and his arrest.

Banks has been out of the loop for quite some time now and to be back in the media with an arrest is not so positive on his part or G-Unit for that matter and you know how strict them Mounties are. Either way, when was the last time he released an album anyway, I’m not even sure and I follow everything. Well at least he’s still apparent and doing shows in certain cities.
