Last month, Latin singer Ricky Martin buried the rumors
by announcing that he was a homosexual. According to VIBE, rapper Fat
Joe
recently gave his opinion and reaction to the news via a
blog posting stating that “Everybody should be allowed to live happy.”
This is what the rapper had to say in regards to Martin’s
announcement:

“Everybody’s their own man,” he wrote. “And if Ricky
Martin
felt like he had to come out of the closet and that’s
what he does and that’s what he represents, then good for him. It ain’t
for me to make a decision whether he should come out or whatever the
case may be. The most disgusting things that I’ve seen, and I’m not
saying about being gay at all, it’s when you have artists who have a
wife and live with a wife and don’t admit they have a wife and two kids
and thinking that’s for the image. How do you think that makes a girl
feel walking around knowing I live with this guy, I love him, I share
everything with him but he never wanna say I’m his wife? So you can just
imagine what
Ricky Martin was going through. With me,
it’s all about being comfortable with who you are and if you gay, fine,
be gay. I’m not gay but fine, you do what you do. I’ll do what I do. I
think it’s 2010 and everybody should be allowed to live happy and live
their lives and whatever makes you happy, then so be it.”

Do you think Fat Joe makes a good point?

Kiely Williams Gets Backlash for “Spectacular” Video

Former 3LW and Cheetah Girl Kiely Williams has been
getting a lot of backlash for her very controversial song/video
“Spectacular” where she seemingly supports drunk sex after meeting a
random guy in the club. In “Spectacular,” Williams
sings:

“Last I remember I was face down-ass up, clothes off, broke off,
dozed off. Even though I’m not sure of his name. He could get it again
if he wanted. Cause the sex was spectacular.”

The video portrays this former Cheetah Girl in sexy clothes and
raunchy dance moves. Many of Williams’ fans are
outraged by the song’s lyrics and have been writing discouraging
messages in response to the video on Youtube. While some say this song
is the “Date Rape Anthem,” last week, Williams’ attempted
to redeem herself with fans saying that she was merely playing a
character in her video.

“ATTENTION: I am an actress and performer. I
have been so since my first role in a television pilot at five years
old. I played a character when I was a Cheetah Girl.  I am playing a
character in the music video for the song Spectacular, as I did in the
Cheetah Girl movies. The fact is, that sometimes women get intoxicated
and have unprotected sex. My video puts this issue front and center. It
is absurd to infer or suggest that I am condoning this behavior. Are Lady
Gaga
and Beyonce advocating murder with the
Telephone video? Of, course not. Was Rihanna
encouraging suicide with Russian Roulette? No. Was Madonna suggesting
that young unmarried girls get pregnant with Papa Dont Preach? I dont
think so. Is Academy Award winner Monique a proponent
of incest because of her portrayal of Mary in the movie
Precious. Clearly, the answer is no. I wrote ‘Spectacular’ and made the
video to bring attention to a serious womens health and safety issue.
Dont shoot the messenger…”

Was Kiely promoting womens health or promoting drunken sex?

Ginuwine Explains Beef with Timbaland

A recent interview with R&B singer Ginuwine revealed the reason why he and mega producer Timbaland have severed ties. According to Ginuwine, the two parted ways when Timbaland unexpectedly began giving him the cold shoulder.

“Me and Tim were real close at one point,” he explained in an interview. “A lot of the times that I reached out, there were a bunch of excuses. I begged and pleaded with with him because I felt a certain way but I was like, is it just a bad vibe that I’m picking up on? Maybe I’m bugging out, I don’t know. But it came out to be true and I still feel like he owes me an apology for that. The reason I’m pissed off at him now is because of what he did. I would’ve been cool and not bothered him if he would’ve said, ‘Nah, I’m too busy,’ or gave me the lame excuse like he’s been giving me. But don’t do it and then not do what you’re supposed to do [to promote the song].”

So is Timbaland acting kinda funny or is Ginuwine overreacting?
