It’s been a minute since Nelly and Kelly Rowland reunited for a second time around to record what people are calling the sequel to ‘Dilemma,’ which was a worldwide hit in 2002. The new track with the two entitled ‘Gone’ attentively follows the same pattern as ‘Dilemma,’ showcasing the two as love interests. Both their talents are definitely exhibited in this 2011 version. A video has finally been recorded and ready to World Premiere.

‘Gone’ is produced by producer extraordinaire, Jim Jonsin, who has been known to coin top hits like T.I.’s ‘Whatever You Like’ and Nelly’s ‘Just a Dream,’ which was actually the first single off of his recent studio album 5.0. It was written by rising R&B star Rico Love, who was known to write the hit tracks Sweet Dreams by Beyonce, Hey Daddy by Usher, and There Goes My Baby, again by Usher.

The video was directed by Marc Klasfeld and filmed on location in Mexico on a sandy beach. The synopsis of the video shows Nelly and Rowland both vacationing on an island resort. As video plays along, Nelly spots Kelly lounging out in the sun and is stopped in his tracks, lowering his sunglasses. Throughout the video, they take turns courting each other, but also pining for the other.

Nelly spoke to MTV News sometime last year about the concept behind the track. These were his comments:
I don’t want to say it’s a sequel. I don’t want to diminish anything with ‘Dilemma’ or have an expectation you can’t live up to when you do that. When you do that type of thing, there’s people who are already, ‘I don’t wanna hear it. It’s supposed to be “Dilemma.” ‘You’re already being negative [before] pushing the button!

“It’s one of those things where we did reconnect, our chemistry has already proven to be good, whether it was onstage or in the studio. It was something that we wanted to reconnect with. It was produced by Jim Jonsin. … It’s a cool joint. I think people will get it. It can never be ‘Dilemma,’ but we wanted to extend the story. It’s continuing the story a little bit more, seeing her again.”
