The tables are turning ladies and gentleman. Over are the days when women were automatically guaranteed to gain custody of their kids after custody battles in court with their baby’s fathers. Men are fighting back now to get their kids and Miami Heat star, Dwyane Wade, is one of them. On Friday (March 11), after a long and ugly custody battle with his ex wife, Siohvaughn Wade, Wade was officially awarded custody of his two sons – Zaire Blessing Dwyane and Zion Malachi Airamis. Siohvaughn
Wade however did receive regular parenting time on alternating weekends
in Miami and other days in the year, which also includes Mothers Day.

Wade made the announcement to his team mates in the Heat Locker room on Saturday (March 12) and received a standing ovation. It’s not every day that a father is awarded custody of their kids. Most of the time, the mothers win the battle, receive a child support check that a lot of normal working class fathers can’t afford to live on after paying, and are seen spending more of the money on themselves than the child. Not saying that every woman does, but there are a lot of women that do. And yes, not all baby daddy’s are bastards. Some of them really do want to take care of their kids, they just don’t want to put up with the baby mama drama.
Congratulations to Dwyane Wade. He’s a great role model on and off the court and I’m sure he passes those fundamentals down to his two sons.
