North Carolina rapper Petey Pablo is facing jail time this summer, after pleading guilty to possession of a stolen firearm yesterday afternoon (March 16th).

Petey Pablo, who’s real name is, Moses Barrett III, was arrested on last year, on September 11th of all days, at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport, as he attempted to board a flight to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

The rapper was taken into custody after police found a 9mm handgun, along with live ammunition, in his carry-on luggage.

To make matters worse, the gun was later found to be stolen and Petey is a convicted felon, which means he cannot possess firearms.

The rapper claims that he forgot the firearm was in his bag, after it was taken from a distressed friend who was threatening to use the weapon.

Petey Pablo is best known for his hit singles “Freek-a-Leek,” “Raise Up” and “Goodies” featuring Ciara.

If convicted, Pablo could face 10 years in prison.
