The Fugees will be performing at a show in Haiti to support Haitian presidential candidate, Michel Martelly. The original November election results were disregarded due to fraud and violence. Music guru Jimmy Rosemond and former Fugees Wyclef Jean and Pras have been vocal in their support of Martelly. The Fugees will perform tonight (March 17) at a show alongside enigmatic and estranged member Lauryn Hill. Busta Rhymes is also slated to make an appearance.

“It’s a new era in Haiti and we are campaigning for change for good in my beloved country,” Wyclef told AllHipHop. “I had to come home as a diaspora to make a difference.”

“No change comes easy especially in these trying times for the Haitian population but I had to come to encourage voting for that change,” said Rosemond. “As the diaspora becomes more involved with Haiti there can’t be nothing but good change.”
