Artist: Wiz Khalifa
Album: Rolling Papers
Label: Rostrum/Atlantic

Rolling Papers is Wiz Khalifa’s third album and his most successful album release. This album heavily features the European production team Stargate, who is behind Wiz’s Chart topping single ‘Black and Yellow,’ and his second single ‘Roll Up,’ as well as producer Hitmaker  Jim Jonsin. This album has a some serious potential hit singles. Khalifa is living up to his stage name which is Arabic for ‘Successor. Wiz Khalifa deserved to be on the cover of XXL for the ‘Top 10 Freshmen and be named ‘Rookie of the Year’ by ‘The Source.’ All of this being achieved in 2010 was clear indication that Wiz was Gonna have a great start in 2011!!

On My Level featuring Too $hort (produced by Jim Jonsin)
I was instantly hooked on this production, I’m a huge jim jonsin fan so as soon as I heard this I knew it had jim jonsin written all over it. Too $hort did his thing on this feature, his delivery is on point! This record has an easy going vibe to it.. Found my self slouched on the chair just moving my head to the record.

Black and Yellow (produced by Stargate)
Well, what can I say about this record, its his debut single from his third album! This record is huge. Everytime I hear this song I can’t help but pretend I’m an OG!!! This track was always destined for great things, during the release of this track Pittsburgh Steelers  made it to the Super Bowl! How ironic to create a massive anthem record for your city and in that same year your city qualifies for the legendary Super Bowl, but sadly loses.

Roll Up (another single produced by the Mighty Stargate)
This is a great spring break record.. It’s the perfect cruise track to a club, it has that mainstream feel for us ladies also. It’s great to see that Wiz ‘s records caters to a wide range of listeners.

Wake Up (Surprise, surprise, yes another Stargate production)
Wiz and Stargate have clearly got a strong musical chemistry, at seems as this music collaberation is the formula of a hit record. When they combine they hit the pocket.

No Sleep (produced by Benny Blanco)
This to me sounds like a record which could be his next single, everything about it screams hit! Woooow, Khalifa is throwing these hits out like he a heavyweight boxer.

Get Your Shit (produced by E. Dan)
This one is for the guys out there. In my opinion, it’s a gangsta “to the left (Irreplacable).” This track is actually one of my favorites, I love Wiz’s interpretation of how a guy feels when they’ve had enough of their main female. Guys got feelings too ladies, best recognise before your boo asks you to ‘Get Your Shit’ and evacuate his crib!

Fly Solo (produced by the Transplants)
This track has an acoustic vibe to it, I can imagine  Bruno Mars on this record! Wiz is a versatile artist, he hasn’t lost his musical roots or sold himself short on this record.

Cameras (yet again produced by Stargate)
Great close to a hot album. This is the Hip-Hop easy listening, you can’t help but feel like your one step closer to knowing, ‘The Real Wiz Khalifa.’

My verdict on this album: I say it’s well worth the price tag!! Go buy it, he came correct on this album!! He did his thing muscically. The chemistry between him and his producers on this album ‘Rolling Papers’ is Fire! A few potential hit singles on here. I enjoyed listening to this album and now I’m going to play this album all over again, but first let me jump to ‘Black and Yellow.’ I’m in the mood to “Booty Pop!!”

Go Buy the Album!!!
