New York, NY – After several attempts from different labels to sign Cam’ron protégé Vado, news finally came to light as Cam announced to the entire world that Vado has finally found a home at Interscope Records.

During Angie Martinez’s show on Hot 97 in New York, Harlem emcee, Cam’ron, announced that his protégé Vado has officially inked a deal with Interscope.

These were comments:

“He just signed a deal with Interscope. Shout to Jimmy Iovine, DJ [DJ Mormile, senior VP of A&R at Interscope], what up, yo?! Big shout to DJ and Jimmy Iovine over there at Interscope. We appreciate that.

And while news was circulating for some time now that the entire Diplomats crew was supposedly in prior negotiations with Interscope, the initial deal never went down. Cam helped shed light on that situation:

“Everything is still going, but we all had prior obligations. Like me and Vado got this Gunz ‘n Butta album that’s coming out. Jim [Jones] has a solo album coming out called Capo. Juelz [Santana] is working on his mixtape. But me and Jim just definitely had obligations with Koch that we couldn’t drop everything. We working with DJ and Jimmy Iovine to get the deal over there at Interscope done for us as well. It’s just a little more intricate being that everybody is signed to a label already.”

All heavyweight members under the Diplomats are still under contractual agreements with their present labels, so as of now, any signing of any kind would have to be on hold. As Jim Jones contract with E1 Entertainment (formerly Koch Records) is still present until the release of his Capo album, which is due in stores April 5. Juelz Santana is still obligated under contract with Def Jam.

Vado isn’t officially under the Diplomat umbrella, however him and Cam have a whole separate union they call ‘The UN. Vado recently released a retail mixtape, Slime Flu, last October. His collaborative album with Cam’ron, Gunz ‘n Butta, comes out officially on April 19 under distribution through E1. Cam continues to support his protégé and number one artist.

“Vado’s crazy out there, if y’all don’t know about Vado, make sure y’all check that young boy out, man. He’s the new voice of Lenox Ave. right now. Make sure you go get up his mixtape, Slime Flu. We got an album coming out called Gunz ‘n Butta and his solo album will be out later this year. That’s my statement.”

In related news, Interscope recently lost heavyweight Hip-Hop group, G-Unit led by their top seller 50 Cent during the course of last summer. This move in signing the entire Diplomat imprint would be a wise move on Interscope’s part.
