Nicki Minaj to Join Britney Spears on Tour

Only on rare occasions will events of epic proportions occur in music, this is just one of those epic occasions. News has been circulating all over the media during the weekend that Young Money femcee, Nicki Minaj, was going to join the pop princess Britney Spears on a tour in support of Spears new album ‘Femme Fatale.’

2011 must be the year of Nicki Minaj as she seriously wants this moment for life. As The ‘I Am Music II’ tour is still running its course, Minaj has been working vigorously in the studio recording new music and new verses for her fellow labelmates and CEOs, all at the same time she was also asked to be a guest judge on X-Factor. It is not 100% certain whether or not she turned down being a judge on Simon Cowell’s new show, however, news has been confirmed that she was asked to go on tour with Britney Spears.

According to the HollywoodReporter.com, the negotiations into Minaj joining the tour came as Enrique Iglesias made the official announcement stating that he’d be pulling out of the show reportedly “due to money and the perception that Iglesias would be opening for Spears instead of co-headlining the tour with her.” Spears has also expressed much interest in adding Usher to the tour, however likelihoods of that happening is slim to none, due to the fact that Usher’s manager, Randy Phillips, helms AEG Live, which is a direct competitor to the upcoming tour’s current promoter, Live Nation.

At the current moment, Minaj is still on tour with Lil Wayne on the ‘I Am Music II’ which kicked off earlier in March. Spears tour has initial plans on commencing on June 17 covering the whole course of the summer.

Spears’ seventh studio album, ‘Femme Fatale’ was released last week Tuesday and is expected to reach number 1 on the billboards by the end of next week. All the while, Minaj’s debut album ‘Pink Friday’ has already sold 1.3 million albums since its initial release in November of 2010.

At press time, Nicki Minaj nor her representatives have confirmed her official participation in Spears upcoming tour as they are still in negotiations. In related news, sometime over the weekend, Minaj released a snippet diss track directed towards Lil Kim entitled ’Tragedy.’

Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for more updated news on Nicki Minaj, the Spears tour, and the full audio of the recent diss track as soon as it is released.
Nicki is officially one of the hardest working femcees in Hip-Hop. Between recording and performing, she seriously got a lot things going on. Now is she decides to go on tour with Brit then that tour is a guaranteed sell out. I bet she even already started recording her sophomore LP.

DJ Khaled Goes In at his Welcome to My Hood (Remix) Video Shoot

New York, NY – DJ Khaled has been seriously busy with his forthcoming studio album. After releasing the debut single to ‘We the Best Forever,’ weeks later he’s already at work with a remix that has features from a plethora of artists. It seems as though Rick Ross, Plies, and Lil Wayne wasn’t enough for him, he went in and brought the big guns with Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Twista, Mavado, Birdman, Ace Hood, Fat Joe, Game, Jadakiss, Bun B, and Wacka Flocka Flame. Besides bringing back T-Pain to coin the new hook, Khaled even added his own verse as he did to the remix to ‘All I Do is Win.’

The new Cash Money signee decided to film this remix in New York City with shots form Mavado taped in Jamaica. MTV News was recently on the set of the new video and inquired about the upcoming album.

These were Khaled’s comments:

“It’s a historical event, man, We the Best Forever, the album, June 28th. This remix is just a sample of some of the things I’m ‘a be doing on the album.

We’re definitely in overtime, and overtime costs a lot of money,” Khaled said. “But I’m real passionate about my music. I’m real passionate about winning. I’m real passionate about all my supporters out there. So, we shooting this video for you. It’s a remix. We shooting this to show you this is real hip-hop right here.”

While on the set, MTV News jumped the chance to interview other artists that were already on the set.

Ludacris chimed in and added his comments on the video:

“I’m happy to be a part of it,” said Ludacris, wearing a sweatshirt emblazoned with an image of the late Nate Dogg. “I just left a movie set, and now I’m on a video set. We just continuing making moves, believe that.”

Terror Squad mogul, Fat Joe, even revealed some news on new material that he is working on:

“We in the studio right now; we doing the new album, we doing a mixtape with Pharrell — it’s crazy. Darkside 2: I’m giving it out as a mixtape for the street, and I’m coming with the album. It sounds amazing right now.”

‘We the Best Forever’ officially drops on June 28 through We the Best, Terror Squad, Cash Money, and Universal Motown.

This album is going to be crazy. The way Khaled be getting these artists left and right is amazing. I guarantee you, we’re going to hear Wayne on a plethora amount of tracks, back to back and probably to one of those as well as 10 more artists. I’m actually looking forward to seeing which producers he has helming this time around.
