Nicki Minaj Confirms Negotiations for Britney Spears Tour

New York, NY – The rumors have been proved true, the Young Money femcee is officially in talks to join Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour. Speculation began swarming across the net after Enrique Iglesias made the official announcement that he would be dropping out of the tour.

MTV News recently caught up with Nicki Minaj during her performance at the Casio’s TRYX OUT: NYC 2011 Launch Party at the Best Buy Theater on Thursday night. They inquired about the rumors behind her joining Britney Spears on tour.

These were her confirmation and additional comments as she delivered them in her alter-ego Martha voice:

“I am in talks of joining Britney Spears, yeah, I’m in talks about a lot of things, ya know. I don’t know — oops, I did it again.”

If Minaj decides to join Spears’ tour, then she will begin with Spears following the conclusion of the ‘I Am Music II’ tour with Lil Wayne, which is still in circulation. Adding to her already busy schedule, Minaj comments about her life on the road:

“I’m getting sick every other day, that’s the one downside. I keep my dressing room warm, and then of course when we go out to the stage area, its freezing cold, and then when we do the afterparty, it’s cold, and then flying and stuff like that. That’s the only downside about touring. It’s just to keep your physical health in order. I was just recuperating from being sick last night and then we flew out here; the plane was freezing, and I think I got sick again. That’s the only downside — that’s the only one.”

At press time, the ‘I Am Music II’ tour officially concludes on May 1 and if she decides to continue touring on a different leg with Britney Spears, then the Femme Fatale tour will kick off on June 17, putting right back on the road after about a month and half on rest and studio recordings.

To be honest, I have to respect Nicki for her dedication to her fans and her music. As of now, she is in the best position of her life. On one hand if she decides to go on tour with Spears, then her relevance will continue to push forward while the release of ‘Tha Carter IV’ will put more material on into her shows with guest appearances with Lil Wayne in different locations and vice versa. On the other hand, if she declines, then this will give her the opportunity to record new material for her sophomore LP and have it ready as early as the beginning of next year. Either way, she can’t do any wrong in her career right now; she’s in a win/win situation.

Jim Jonsin Goes In on his Upcoming Hectic Schedule

New York, NY – Miami based hitmaker Jim Jonsin has been quite busy over the past several months producing hit after hit with different artists that seem to flock to him like birds flocking south for the winter. Interestingly enough, when he’s not recording or producing, he’s mentoring contestants for this season’s American Idol.

Jonsin was recently interviewed on MTV’s Mixtape Daily about his recent and upcoming work with artists. Jonsin discusses his work with artists new and veteran.

These were his comments:

“I’m into artist development, so I like taking an artist brand new and working with them and teaching them new things and watching them grow, they’re having to grow at lightning speed. With the music producers injected into this now, now they’re really at hard knocks, right? Not only do you have to build this performance, but now you have to record a song. And record an amazing song that’s gotta go on iTunes for sale and it reflects you and you being an artist.”

His production discography is really quite extensive ranging from T.I., Lil Wayne, Usher, B.o.B., and even Wiz Khalifa.

Jonsin recently worked with Khalifa on the track ‘On My Level’; which also featured the veteran, Too Short. It was actually a featured single off of Khalifa’s debut, ‘Rolling Papers.’ These were comments about his work experience with the Pittsburgh emcee:

“He’s got that Snoop Dogg vibe with his own twist, Jay-Z kinda. Working with Wiz, it was good. He’s kind of a traditional hip-hop artist, which I love most, mixed with this edgy skater-punk spirit. He definitely blends with my character: I like that.”

Jonsin even goes in on the talents behind B.o.B. The ATL emcee’s debut B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray was released on Jonsin’s Rebel Rock label in conjunction with Atlantic Records and Grand Hustle Records. The producer and the emcee have already begun the follow-up as news has already been circulating:

“His last album kind of reflects who he is, but he’s growing into something new, I’m waiting for what he brings us back when we go back in the studio — he’s got some ideas — to kind of see the direction he’s going in. We’re letting him lead that.

He’s really talented. The guy produces, writes, he does a lot of his own stuff. I think his album will reflect that. I think this album will have a lot of his own work on it. We’re waiting on him to give us the direction.
I think there’ll be less features on this album, more him singing and rapping. Definitely less features: He wants to showcase himself more, put out more of his own ideas.”

Jonsin has literally a lot on his plate for the next several months, as a matter fact possibly to the end of the year. He has stated that he will begin work on Roc Nation recording artist J. Cole’s upcoming album and then eventually assisting Eminem on Shady Records’ new signee Yelawolf on his debut album.

These were his comments on his upcoming work with J. Cole and his excitement behind co-producing with Eminem:

“Some of the stuff we did was more traditional hip-hop with just a little edge to it, some rock in it. So I think we’re going to stick to that and see what happens.”

“That’s going to be fun, we’re working for Yelawolf’s project. It’s all about Yela. We’re going to actually produce together. I get to work with Eminem producing records.”

Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for more updated news on Jim Jonsin. We are trying to secure an exclusive interview with Jim Jonsin, himself, so keep posted for that as well.

Jim Jonsin has been a beast in the studio. I can honestly say that his beats are notable. He really knows the artist’s element with each and every song that he releases. I’m actually looking forward to hearing what he has up his sleeves for Yelawolf’s upcoming debut. With him and Eminem heading the production, the album should be amazing.

Do I really have to comment about this? I honestly believe that Gucci Mane should have thought about it before he decided to boot a lady out of his hummer, let alone while it was still moving. I’m going to leave this one alone, just watch the video.
