In what has made headlines for the past couple of weeks, Nicki Minaj has finally confirmed that she will be joining Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour that plans on kicking off in the beginning of the summer.

News hit media outlets sometime towards the beginning April that Young Money femcee, Nicki Minaj was being sought out to join the pop princess Britney Spears on her upcoming ‘Femme Fatale’ tour. The request for Minaj came about when world renowned Enrique Iglesias officially announced that he was pulling out of the tour for financial reasons. Even though Minaj was and still is currently on tour with Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Travis Barker on the ‘I Am Music II’ tour, her thoughts were still open when the opportunity to tour with Spears abruptly came around. The ‘I Am Music II’ tour officially ends on May 1st, while the ‘Femme Fatale’ tour plans on kicking off June 16th.

The ‘Femme Fatale’ tour has been set to kick off on June 16 in Sacramento, California, and will run through 26 dates through North America in different cities across the continent, eventually winding up on August 13 in Toronto. Select tickets will go on sale on April 30.

Spears manager Larry Rudolph recently spoke with MTV News about the theme that the show will provide and what to expect within her performances. According to Rudolph, the concept and theme will revolve around a post-apocalyptic that was already present in her recent live sets and the video for the track ‘Till the World Ends.’

These were his comments:

“The way we come up with a concept for a show like this is we sit with Britney, she talks to us about what she’s interested in and what excites her. We start with the songs on the album; we start with coming up with general, broad concepts. She tells us what interests her and excites her, and from there, we have [the input of music tour director] Jamie King and [choreographer] Brian Friedman.”

Only a short time has passed since the announcement was made that Nicki Minaj was officially joining Britney Spears on tour, but it only took her a just then a few hours to release an exclusive statement to MTV News and then sparking up a conversation with Spears on twitter:
This is what the statement read. You can sense the enthusiasm in her writing:

“I am beyond thrilled to tour with Britney. It’s an honor. She’s an icon. This summer will be one for the books!”

Minaj and Spears even boosted about the upcoming tour on twitter, having their own personal conversation back and forth:

Minaj responded: “Hot INDEED Your Fierceness!!! This tour’s gonna KICK ASS!!! The #FemmeFataleBARBZ r READY!!! Let’s GO!!! Let’s keep the ‘other thing’ a secret for now…”

Spears even added her own excitement when interviewed by MTV News earlier today. These were her comments:
