Detroit rapper Big Sean hosted a private, invitation-only listening event for his highly anticipated upcoming album, Finally Famous last night (June 7th) in New York City.


A number of music executives, rappers, journalists and radio personalities gathered at The Standard Hotel in downtown Manhattan, where Big Sean previewed Finally Famous. 

Rappers like G.O.O.D. Music CEO Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Pusha-T, DJ Khaled, Joe Budden, and Kid Cudi showed up to support Big Sean, while media personalities like Angie Martinez, Miss Info and E-Bro Darden of Hot 97, Charlamagne The God of Power 105.1, MTV’s RapFix staff, EMI executive Big Jon Platt, Free Maiden, Sha Money XL and numerous others attended the event.

“I believe Sean’s story is one of the most amazing ever, cause he literally got signed off a freestyle. he has the potential to be the biggest artist in the world. He could be what Beyonce is to R&B, then he can be that to rap music,” Kanye West said. As far as G.O.O.D Music goes, the swag is all the way up.”

During the listening session, Big Sean explained how each track on Finally Famous was created. 

Most of the production on the album was handled by veteran producer No I.D., although The Neptunes, The Legendary Traxster and Mike Dean contributed tracks to Finally Famous. 

Finally Famous is due in stores June 28th via G.O.O.D. Music/Island Def Jam.
