Is VH-1’s Gossip Game worth watching?

In theory, the show is suppose to give viewers “a dynamic show that draws viewers into the lives of seven media personalities covering the fast-paced, competitive urban entertainment beat in New York City.”
Instead, the reality TV brainchild of Mona Scott-Young champions a new low in the genre by exploiting women in media.
The hour long segment debuted with the most controversial example of journalistic integrity to rival the tactics at Fox News Network, accusations of ratchet, and–what else–irrelevant fight(s) just to name a few.
From the madness of the first episode, who else is relieved many successful bloggers whom are brand-conscious (read: Necole Bitchie) decided not to participate?
For the most relieving tid-bits about Gossip Game, read below.
In Jas Fly’s World Journalism Ethics & Standards Do Not Exist
A freelance writer whose pop culture column appears on Vibe.com twice a week and Necole Bitchie, Jas Fly proved she has questionable journalism integrity (read: she has none) when she decided to ambush radio personalities, K. Foxx and Anglea Yee in what both women assumed were one-on-one interviews. For a woman whose crafted a reputation as the go-to entertainment writer in hip-hop, why would she feed into the reality TV beast in such a way that’s damageable to her brand name?
Angela Yee Is A Professional
Co-host of the top rated “Breakfast Club” show on Power 105.1, Angela Yee for the most part, seems to be a true professional, i.e., she can navigate drama and put a positive spin on any issue.
Funkmaster Flex Is Entertaining
A relic in hip-hop, Funkmaster Flex proved he’s as argumentative as the next insecure person by contributing to Hot 97 and Power 105.1 “beef.” (A beef that’s based on advertising dollars?) And, like Charlamagne Tha God rightly portrayed, sounds like Hulk Hogan in his rants.
K. Foxx Is Incapable Of Thinking For Herself
As observed by Angela Yee, co-host of “The Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show with K. Foxx” on Hot 97 FM, K. Foxx proved to be expertly “brainwashed” by her co-workers. Not only was she irrationally upset upon meeting Angela Yee simply because she worked for Power 105.1, she was hell-bent on fishing a negative comment about her cohorts colleagues from Yee’s mouth that she interpreted a positive remark by her to a negative one. And solidified her status as a shit stirrer, by telling Funkmaster Flex a completely different version of her Yee’s comment, which sparked one of Funkmaster Flex’s Hulk Hogan-like rants. Also, she shares an uncanny resemblance to Serena Williams.
Kim Osorio Is A Magician
One time writer, and now Editor-In-Chief of The Source magazine, Kim Osorio proves that she can 1) write a tell-all novel, (see: Straight From The Source), 2) discuss the many rappers she’s slept with while simultaneously writing reviews and articles about them and 3) still manage to maintain an iota of professional credibility. With that much tricks, David Blaine should be taking lessons from her.
K. Foxx’s Colleagues Don’t Respect Her
After doing her best bit of run tel dat, another jewel was discovered regarding K. Foxx, namely her male colleagues don’t respect her. This is seen when collectively they spoke down to her in regards to her thinking a face-to-face interview with Jas Fly was appropriate, and the general unspoken consensus that she’s unloyal even after proving her blind loyalty.
Ms. Drama’s Title Is Completely Befitting
An outspoken media personality on the online radio station Break Thru Radio, and host of the entertainment news and gossip blog, MsDramaTV, Ms. Drama proved that her title is rightly deserved after she tried the most for airtime by picking a pointless fight with Vivian Billings.
Kim Osorio Moonlights As An English Teacher
Under any circumstance, do not mispronounce, misspeak or fumble words in the presence of Osorio because she will correct you on your awful grammar (see: Ms. Drama who Osorio clarified to the word is “standoffish” not “offstandish”).
Sharon Carpenter Had An Inferiority Complex Prior, Writing About Hip-Hop Helped Her Overcome It
Reporter on Russell Simmons’ Global Grind website and past reporter on BET, Sharon Carpenter is the show’s reigning reporter meaning her journalistic ethics outweighs everyone. She’s British which means her accent allows her to get away with murder in the States, and revealed her tragic mulatto story: being the sole black face in her lily white British town caused her alot of strife and writing for hip-hop fostered her inner confidence.
Vivian Billing Doesn’t See It For Ms. Drama
NYC Gossip Girl whose HipHopGossipSite.com blog provides celebrity gossip, Vivian Billing is not a fan of Ms. Drama’s Dr. Jekyll & Mrs. Hyde persona.
