Artist: Billy Blue
Mixtape: Wake N Bake

It is evident that Billy Blue takes his musical craft quite seriously. His studio time is like a 9 to 5, as soon as the beat hits the headphones; it’s time to go to work. If you’ve ever listened or been around to hear Blue speak, he loves his fans, so with all the work that he puts into his music, he literally gives it to all for his fans. In return, his devoted fans give him the love and the support that he welcomes with open arms.

Not even two months into the release of ‘Blumenatti,’ the Poe Boy/KonLive/Mosley/Interscope recording artist returns with another mixtape in celebration of the recent 4/20. In support of the 420petition, Blue decided to release a mixtape entitled ‘Wake N Bake’ for all his smoker fans all around the world.

Between the original sounds that Blue has incorporated into this mixtape intertwined with his lyrical storylines, low and behold, you have yet another classic, with the assistance of DJ Smokey Bear and Big Chuck, Blue doesn’t take this journey alone.

7 of Purp

Blue provided the smokers with this laid back smooth vibe track with Ballgreezy on the hook. All in good times for the celebration in light of the ‘holiday’ season, this is a track that you could chill you while enjoying your recreational time.

One More Round

One more round is actually vintage Blue. A fast-paced track that definitely puts you in the vibing mode, listen as Blue bounces on the track giving you an anecdote from just one of those days. The hook is really interesting, especially when your high.

We Burnin’

Blow for blow, this track includes Poe Boy’s ‘Power 3’ as they trade pars going back and forth. Blue intros the track
as Ghostwridah and Brisco add their original elements to a certified banger. The beat is definitely on point with this one. Talk about an interlude to the upcoming ‘Heart of the City,’ where fans will get a chance to hear more music from the ‘Power 3.’

I’ll Be Around

Blue knew what he was doing when the sample hit the headphones. The original ‘Spinners’ track with the same title meshed quite well with Blue’s unique style and of course, the surprise addition of T double D. Billy Blue and Trick Daddy’s verses covers stories and tales that surrounded them in the city they claim, the city the love. This is the anthem for the City of Miami. Shouts out to Midus!

Zone In

Billy Blue takes flight with this one. With another one of those vibe when you drive joints, he gives you an idea of his mode when he’s in his zone. Vintage storytelling from the narrator himself; wake n bake indeed. Blue adds an extra flare as he helms the hook, ‘Zone In, Zone Out.’

Been Here Before

The intro to this track already gave me that epic vibe. Once the beat drops, the headnod will commence. As Blue commences his elemental delivery, the story begins to unwinds right in front of you as you visual what he’s saying word for word. With the assistance of DJ Kore, call this another banger to add Blue’s collection of bangers.

All in all, Blue does it once again, baked and all, he still gives it to you the only way he knows how, real. Each track still provides that vintage Blue that we’ve all come accustomed to. If you haven’t noticed the pattern by now, his production has always been original instrumentals all for his fans listening pleasure. His lyrics match with the production on many levels, if you know Billy Blue’s sound, then you can understand the elements and the originality. ‘Wake N Bake,’ another street classic.
