Artist: Consequence
Album: Don’t Quit Your Day Job
Label: G.O.O.D. Music/Sony
Review By: Jay Carter

The great Sam Cooke once sang in a song, “It’s
been a long time coming, but I know a change gone come” and thanks to
Consequence’s newest album, that change has came. After going through
ups and downs in his career, Consequence seems to be back in
the thick of things. From the beginning to the end (including skits) along with
a well round production, story telling (show on “Uncle Rahiem”),
and concepts (shown on “The Good, The Bad & The Ugly”
feat. Kanye West) Consequence cooks up a complete album. This
is a very rare thing in today’s music industry with songs like “Job
Song”
(produced by Koolade), “Who Knew
My Luck Would Change”
(produced by Keezo Kane), or
my personal favorite “Don’t Forget ‘Em” which
is actually the next single produced by Kanye West. John Legend
also lends a hand on “Feel This Way” where he sings and
rap which was all written and produced by Consequence and LowDown.
Other highlights on the album are “Night, Night”, "Callin
Me”
, “Uptown”, and “Pretty Little
Sexy Mama”
. So even if the numbers don’t show, the one thing
you can’t deny about this debut is the G.O.O.D. Music.
