Artist: Rihanna
Album: Rated R
Label: Def Jam

Going into this album after all of the hype and everyone waiting to hear Rihanna’s response to the big incident and taking over the Fashion World with her style and famous hair cut. Not to mention a successful break out album and smashing the hook for “Run This Town” with Jay-Z & Kanye West. The first two songs “Hard” ft Young Jeezy & “Russian Roulette” showed no drop off at all. But as I went through the album a bit more I became a bit lost, I understand that Rihanna may have did things a little different on this album but you still have to have huge records. Don’t get me wrong records like “Cold Case Love” and “Fire Bomb” are great records but I think the majority will be looking for those “Take A Bow” and “Umbrella” records and they won’t find them on this album and that will be a big disappointment to the new fans. But the core Rihanna fans should be more then happy with Rated R and placing “Photographs” on repeat. More highlights on this album are “Rude Boy” and “The Last Song“.
