Miami is the shit right now. Emerging as one of the leading cities in the Southern dominated rap game, Miami has major artists coming out and a sound is being solidified. However one of the pioneers of the Miami music scene, Trick Daddy, has been suspiciously absent these past couple of years dealing with personal health issues and petty industry beefs. Although while he may have been away it has been made apparent that he has not been sleeping.

Trick Daddy has linked up with Miami mixtape legend, DJ Dephtone, for the 7th installment of Dephtone’s classic mixtape series, The Product. The Product is known for only high quality work and Trick Daddy seems to have known this as he put together 24 tracks of some his best music in years. Simply put, this shit rides out.

“Gettin It Off” is the first taste Trick gives us along with his group The Dunk Ryders, who are featured heavily on the tape. The collective group hold their own alongside Trick, who lets us know he still has that gangsta shit we have come to love him for. The Product only gets stronger with “What They Do”, an ode where Trick lets the world know how his city gets down featuring Miami rapper Majic and fellow Dunk Ryder, Bad Guy.

But don’t think Daddy Dollar’s reach is only local. He brings in several out of town friends to help whip up the Product like Young Jeezy and C.T.E. who appear on the trunk rattling “Black Flag”. While letting us know his spending habits with Kanye West on the soul influenced “Can’t Say No” Trick shows us a different and more humorous side to T Double D than we are used to seeing.

The name says it all. This is The Product. The streets have been waiting for some of that new Trick shit and Dephtone definitely will not disappoint with this latest batch. Cop this tape at any of the major mixtape retail sites or your local mixtape spot. Also to get more of The Product check out Dephtone’s official MySpace at: myspace.com/djdephtone.
