Artist: Yo Gotti

Mixtape: Live! From The Kitchen

Label: Inevitable Entertainment / Cash Money

Hosted By: Trap Starz

It is certainly a new year for Yo Gotti. Last year several websites did not mention any Yo Gotti mixtapes in their top mixtapes of 2008. In response he went into the studio and recorded a hot new mixtape which is entitled “Live! From The Kitchen” to prove to the people who don’t give him is credit that he his derserving of his props. With his latest mixtape which is hosted by Trap Starz, he feeds the streets with some banging original music and exclusive remixes.

If you’re wondering who is Yo Gotti, he is North Memphis’ own and he is known for his thugged-out gangster lyrics. He gets his inspiration from both Southern and non-Southern artists like Master P who has No Limit, N.W.A., Dr. Dre, and the late Tupac Shakur. When you hear Gotti saying he is from the “North,” he means he is from the infamous, crime-ridden Ridge Crest housing projects in Memphis. The hardships he has experienced and seen have inspired Gotti’s lyrics.

If you haven’t gotten around to picking up this mixtape or downloading it online, my advice to you is to go and get it, and listen closely so you can see what I mean. Tracks that stand out on this mixtape are “Stan”, “3 Time Felon”, “Dunn Dunn”, “Paper Planes”, “Hustling All My Life”, “Get Silly”, “Who Hotter Than Me?”, and “Sold Out”. If you’re a Yo Gotti fan Cocaine Muzik 2 is coming soon.
