Three 6 Mafia member/ co-founder Ricky “Lord Infamous” Dunigan was found dead at his mother’s home in Memphis, Friday afternoon, according to sources. The Three 6 Mafia member died from a heart attack in his sleep, after stating he was tired. Member and brother DJ Paul told The Hollywood Reporter, that Ricky was visiting his mother when she left for a few hours, coming home to find Dunigan dead at her kitchen table.

“He passed away in his sleep from a heart attack,” DJ Paul told The Hollywood Reporter. “He said he was tired, he wanted to sleep. He sat down at the kitchen table, put his head in his arms to lay down … to get some sleep.”

Although recently Lord Infamous hasn’t been I’ll lately according to his brother, he he did suffer from a stroke and heart attack in 2010. His death was still unexpected and has deeply affected the hip hop community.

Ricky Dunigan was born November 17, 1973 in Memphis Tennessee. Rapper and co-founder of Three 6 Mafia, Dunigan and his brother took over South Memphis area and released seveal self-recorded tapes in their local neighborhood, and local shops.

Social media has exploded with words of sympathy for the family from fans and close friends of Lord Infamous.”R.I.P. lord infamous,” Juicy J tweeted Saturday. “He gave us the name #Triple6Mafia he was a pioneer, he was a god, he was my friend. RIP Ricky “Lord Infamous” Dunigan”, tweeted by Lil Wyte. “Rest in Peace Lord Infamous please respect the family and dear friends during this tragedy,” said Gangsta Boo. “I will never forget the shows we rocked together. My heart is in pieces.”

They recently released their reunion album 6ix Commandments with Earlier this year, Dunigan reunited with Paul and recorded music as Da Mafia 6ix with former Three 6 members Gangsta Boo, Crunchy Black, and Koopsta Knicca, and were planning a show in the Memphis area next week.

We have lost another hip hop pioneer and our hearts goes out to the Dunigan family.
