Known by most as one fifth of the platinum selling rap group Crime Mob, Diamond aka “Ms.32 Flavaz,” undoubtedly made her own impression in the game. The group burst on the scene with their debut smash record “Knuck If You Buck,” and the world would quickly take notice of the tiny female emcee with the giant voice. While with Crime Mob, Diamond garnered a reputation for spitting gritty street bars from a female’s perspective. After splitting from the group, she decided to embark upon her solo career. With her latest hit single “Superbad,” she not only proves that she is back with a vengeance, but that she is definitely on her way to being a power player in the new femcee movement. We caught up with Diamond to see how her career as a solo artist was blossoming.

24HHH: You got started in the game very early on. How did it feel to be only 14 years old and signed to a deal with Lil Jon? That had to be a crazy experience right?

Diamond: It was crazy, we were pulled out of school and put directly in the studio and then on the road. I felt like Iwas about to conquer the world.

24HHH: Ok, Diamond AKA Ms. 32 Flavaz, it’s been a while since some of your fans have heard from you. Let the readers know what you have been up too since Crime Mob.

Diamond: Well i have been putting out my Bitch Muzik Volumes right now I’m working on vol. 3, and I am also going back into the studio to add more to my project. So I’ve just been constantly grinding letting the studio be my first home.

24HHH: Many times we see artists go solo and eventually flop. Are you feeling any hesitation or pressure about delivering a quality major label solo release?

Diamond: No I am very excited about my project. I have confidence in myself and the producers I have picked for my album and I feel like I am past due to bring it to the front. I know I have dedicated fans, so if my album reach those fans I have fulfilled my goal.

24HHH: What makes you a “Diamond?” and is there any particular reason or story behind the name?

Diamond: Well diamonds are the most admired piece on this earth, and a lot come in rare form, so I view myself in both those aspects. There will never be another like me.

24HHH: You definitely did your thing with the Bitch Muzik series and Pardon My Swagg (P.M.S.)! Can we expect that same heat with your upcoming project?

Diamond: Very much so. Matter of fact I go harder with my album because it’s representing me more as a woman, and being a artist, and for the fact that I have full control over it is gonna make it a foundation for more of whats to come.

24HHH: Your hit single “Superbad” produced by Cee-Lo was named as the MTV Jam of the Week, that’s definitely a good look. What was the motivation behind the song and how did you know you had the perfect debuting single?

Diamond: It was honestly a female feel good sound, its the type of song when your in the club and when the beat drops u automatically feels sexy, and that’s something were missing now a days which is sexy tracks for the ladies.

24HHH: So I hear you are putting finishing touches on the album. Crazy collaborations including Cee-Lo. Lloyd and Keri Hilson. If successful, where do you see this album taking you?

Diamond: I see it taking me to the next level as of being a solo artist. People in this industry pray on your failure and its sad, but to me its fuel to the fire, so its just gonna be my stamp of approval that I’m still here and I’m just getting started.

24HHH: Is there a name and official release date for the album yet?

Diamond: The album is still untitled and my release date is spring 2010

24HHH: We have a lot of artists claiming to be the best. Is Diamond the hottest female rapper in the game?

Diamond: I would say that I am strong and motivated, but i would never claim to be the best of anything but be being me.

24HHH: Some people say Hip-Hop is dead. What do you say?

Diamond: I would say its what you make of it. Now ad ays everybody is a rapper, i feel like once we quit dividing ourselves and quit the forecasting hip hop would be back strong the way it was when all of the artist we grew from and inspired to be in the game. its all about growing up and showing it.

24HHH: I know that you’re a major supporter of the femcee movement, are there any female rappers that you’d like to collaborate with or will be collaborating with on this album?

Diamond: Da Brat, is one of my favorite rapper her and Lil Kim

24HHH: So what can we expect from Diamond in 2010?

Diamond: much more, ya girl will be focusing on modeling and more endorsements
