“Hard In The Paint”, “BMF”, and “MC  Hammer” are some of this summer’s bangers!!! Club to club, city to city these songs were played and each time the crowd went wild. Now I am sure your wondering— besides Ricky Rozay & Waka Flocka, who is behind the music? Well I am pleased to tell you guys that I have found him, his name is Lexus Lewis— or as the world now knows him Lex Luger. He is currently nominated for 2010 BET awards “Producer Of The Year”. I had the opportunity to speak with him the other day, check out what this super hot producer had to say.

24: Hey Lex, we have been hearing so much about you. You produced “Hard In The Paint” for Waka Flocka and “BMF” & “MC Hammer” for Rick Ross which made his Albert Anastasia EP and his album Teflon Don. Can you tell me a little bit about how you got started?

Lex Luger: Well really I started young. Well really my dad started me young. You know I played the sneer but he wanted me to play the drums. So once I started playing the drums I started experimenting with other stuff. I had this music program called ‘Music Generator’ for Playstaion 2 and once I got that I began making beats. I wouldnt play my beats for anybody though. But once everybody heard them, they told me to keep working. So I started working, working, and working.

24: You started off young, how old are you exactly, and where are you from?

Lex Luger: I’m only 19 years old and Im from Virgina.

24: How old were you when you figured out this is what you wanted to do?

Lex Luger: Well I really can’t say. I been making beats for so long and it was to the point where I was no where close to where I am now.  So then I was thinking I didnt know if I really wanted to do this.

24: What motivated you to keep it going?

Lex Luger: Well Waka Flocka did and my daughter.I want to provide for her qand give her everything she wants so I just kept working. Then that “BMF” song came out, and thats my biggest hit right now.

24: You have worked with Rick Ross and Waka Flocka, whos next?

Lex Luger: I been working with Yung Berg, Curren$y, Wiz Khalifa, Project Pat, Diamond, Gucci Mane— a lot of people. I was recently in Miami with some writers for Justin Beiber and Rihanna.

24: How would artist go about getting a beat from you?

Lex Luger: They can hit me on my Twitter (@ThisIsLexLuger)

24: With your new found success have you traveled to a lot of places?

Lex Luger: Yes I have, so far Miami, I love Miami.

24: As far as the industry goes, growing up, who was the person you looked up to— who did you want to be like?

Lex Luger: Yes, I love Dr. Dre thats how I want to be when I get up there. Dr. Dre and Quincy Jones. His whole mindset about music. I mean thats really it, they are like the godfathers of it.

24: Right now your producing hot beats, your working with the best artist, where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Lex Luger: I want to see myself as one of the best producers. You know as one of the top. Look out for me.

24: On behalf of 24hourhiphop.com we appreciate your time and wish you the best.
