24: The last couple of years have been huge
for Houston, Texas as far as everyone around the country picking up on the music
scene. Did you expect things to take off the way it did?

Paul Wall: Hell nah, not in a million years I
didn’t expect it to take off like that but I’m grateful as a fan of
the Texas music scene and as an artist to be involved in the success.

24: Did you feel any added pressure going
into your second album “Get Money Stay True” after your first album
“The People Champ” turned out so successful?

Paul Wall: Not really because for me putting
out independent albums prior to my first album on a major label I still look
at it as my fifth or sixth album.

24: What’s the meaning behind your
album title and how have you managed to remain humble & grounded in an industry
where a lot of artists don’t?

Paul Wall: It was a slogan we had at my label,
Swisha House, and I fell in love with it and so many people kept telling me
like Paul with all your success you still the same, you ain’t change at
all so that’s what I ended up calling the album. I think for myself it
has not been hard to stay humble because I just do what I have been doing and
that’s being me.

24: I saw you on VH1 in Africa tell me
what that experience was like for you?

Paul Wall: Man it was amazing it was a hell
of a life experience that actually changed my life to be honest. It was a very
moving experience that made me look at my own life in a different perspective.
Now I see what is really important to me and what’s not, before I went
to Africa I thought I had it bad growing up but from what I saw over their I
grew up like a king. Also I’m trying my best to help by starting different
foundations and different charities just trying to get things circulating through
the government over their and raise some money for those in need.

24: Who are some of the artist you have
featured on the album?

Paul Wall: I worked with Trina, John B, Jermaine
Dupri, and Lil Keke. The album is off the chain so go get that on April.3.

24: Tell me who are some of the producers
you went to for production on the Get Money Stay True?

Paul Wall: My boy Mr.Lee did the majority of
the production on the album but also I worked with my friend Travis Barker.
Me and Travis actually have a group together called “Expensive Taste.”
It’s me Travis Barker & Skin Head Rob we got a song with the whole
group on the album it’s called “Sliding On That Oil” so the
fan’s can get their first taste of what we bringing to the table.

24: What can the fans expect from this
new album?

Paul Wall: The same Paul Wall but just on another
level, you know. Better lyrics, productions, and songs.

24: I read that you started out as being
apart of the Street Team over at Def Jam so if you could please give so advice
to up coming artist trying to get into the industry but not sure how to?

Paul Wall: You have to be open to new ideas
and you have to work hard in this game because by far I don’t think I’m
the best artist as far as lyrics but I think I’m one of the hardest workers.

24: How has your Grill business been going
a long with your partner TV Johnny?

Paul Wall: Off the chain, www.Grillsbypaulwall.com
we selling them like crazy we even got George Foreman beat right now and we
still have the store in Houston, Texas also.

24: Most people only see artist on T.V.
and videos but take them behind the scenes for a minute what’s a day like
for you with almost about a month to go before your album drops?

Paul Wall: I wake up in the morning with the
phone ringing then start my day that’s basically non-stop work until its
time to go to sleep and sometimes I go until I just fall out and cant go no
more.

24: Are you at all concerned with the
so-called sophomore jinx?

Paul Wall: For me its too late for that I feel
like I’m in my senior year.

24: What’s next for Paul Wall that
the people should be looking out for?

Paul Wall: I got some new bobble head dolls
that just came out, the one size fits all Grillz just trying to be creative
and not rely on the music side of things 100%. I am also merging with a clothing
line for the “Expensive Taste” clothing. I teamed up with Avirex
to do some stuff I’m just out here having fun, making money and making
music.
