24: You guys are coming off of a big
year with Young Money’s “Every Girl” and you’ve recently done a lot of work
with Drake and T-Wayne. How did your relationship with Young Money start and
what else can we expect from your work with them?

Actually our relationship with Young Money & T-Pain
both in a way got started by Drake! We met Drake through one of his managers on
MySpace like 3 years ago and saw the potential in him and great song writing
ability and began working with him and sending him tracks, and as he started to
get noticed nationwide and Lil Wayne took interest in him, one day when Wayne
flew him out and he left one of our CD’s of beats we gave to him on Wayne’s bus
and then next thing we know Wayne recorded to like 10 out of 14 joints that
were on that CD.  So that’s where some of the Young Money and T-Wayne songs
that you heard came.  It goes to show that sometimes you just gotta
believe in people and then in some weird way of the world you will see yourself
rewarded in return, cause there is no way we could ever planned for anything to
happen the way it did…. As far as more work, we did two songs that we are
really excited about off T Pain’s upcoming album “rEVOLEr” as well as a few songs on upcoming Young Money
Cash Money projects including Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated Carter 4!!

24: How would say your production style
has evolved since first coming into the game?

We are constantly evolving… it’s said that you
have to spend 10,000 hrs doing something before you can master it so we are
just trying different things and ways of making tracks and also the technology
is always changing. For example Native Instruments created this new drum
machine/production station called Maschine that we have been using a lot and
really think is a product that is helping us take our music a step further! But
we realize the main thing is the game is the sky is the limit and once you get
a foot in the door you can make your career what you want it to be and we are
trying to be known as one of the greats, and carry the torch from our peers
before us that have inspired us to be great producers!!

24: Do you both consider yourself
producers or beat makers and explain why for either answer?

We consider our self producers because producers
take control of the whole idea of song making from beat making to song writing
to arrangement to know what tracks will be good for each artists etc. while
beat makers just make hot tracks but may not have those other characteristics
and that makes all the difference. Anybody can have a hot beat but it’s a
producer that turns that hot beat into a hot song!

24: How do you guys approach making
your beats, do you start with the drums first or a kick?

Normally everything starts with the drums because if
the drums are not knocking the track doesn’t matter! But sometimes me and Henny
will come up with a dope melody or chord progression and then we will make a
joint around that so it can go either way.

24: What producer(s) in the game at the
moment, that when you listen to their music, makes you want to step up your
production?

We have been lucky to meet a lot of great and
talented people so of our favorite production partners are Dj Khalil, Justice
League, DJ Toomp, Jake One, Fat Boi, Dream & Tricky Stewart and Boi1da just
to name a few.  We love hearing people push the envelope and seeing our
friends that we know work as hard as we do take songs to the next level and we
believe you can learn something from everybody’s success and what things they
did in their careers to be dope!

24: You guys recently did “Take My
Time” on Chris Brown’s new album “Graffiti”. How was it like working in the
studio with him?

Chris was great to work with in the studio. He
really loves the music and instantly took a liking to our beats.  Chris is
a super talented person and people really seem to like what we did on
“Take My Time” as well as the new joint “No Bullshit” that
is off his new DJ Drama Gangsta Grillz mixtape he dropped during Valentine’s
day!  It was definitely one of our goals this past year to start getting
into different genres of music and be on Chris Brown’s album was a great end to
the start of our careers!

24: Who are some other artists you’re
trying to work with in the future?

We like to mix it up and work with everybody from
the new guys like Pill, Alleyboy, Bei Maejor, J. Cole to Rick Ross, Melanie
Fiona, Usher, Trey Songz to doing more songs with The Black Eyed Peas, Justin
Beiber or any other pop crossover artists.  We just feel like we have
music for the whole world and wanna try to do as many songs with as many
different people as possible. We also just co-scored T-Pains new 1hour cartoon
special on Cartoon Network/Adult Swim called “Freaknik Is Back”
(coming out March 7) and produced 6 songs in the show as well as over creating
the background music for a lot of the scenes.  That was a great experience
and hopefully opened the door to more movie scoring and film production work
and maybe even some big commercials!

24: Do you have any plans of starting a
label later on and have artist(s) or do you just want to keep focusing on being
the best producers possible?

We are always looking for new talent for our company
Tha Bizness productions LLC we are currently working on our debut album “Tha Bizness Plan” as well as looking
for new singers and songwriters to work with, like we said before we are always
going to keep evolving and believe things will happen when they are ready to
happen so until then we just stay on the beats and know we are just getting
started and people are just seeing the beginning of what we are capable of
doing and all the music we have inside of us!!

24: What’s some up and coming moves
you’re trying to make in the near future that everyone should look out for?

Like we said before lookout for T-Pain’s
“Freaknik Is Back” special on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim on March 7
as well as  T-Pain’s upcoming album “rEVOLVEr”
and Lil Wayne’s Carter 4 but just stay locked to our site www.ThaBizness.com cause these days you never
