This is Cesper with 24hourlatino and 24hourhiphop.com, I’m sitting here with Ghetto Stylez, CEO of Loc & Grind Ent. exclusive producer of the hit songs Stick N Roll and Stick Drill. Ghetto also happends to be Piccalo’s manager. I was able to sit down with the man and find out whats the scoop on this Dade County heavy hitter…

Tell me what Ghetto stylez has been up to the past few months….

Lately, I been finishing the Piccalo album titled “Can’t Stop My Vibe”, I executive produced his album, and I’ve been working with my RnB act, whose name is Laz Da Voice. Also I been working a lot with Nappy Boy, doing songs with Tay Dizm and Young Kash. I’ve been spreading my new record ‘Stick Drill’, which is real big all over Florida. Besides that, everyday just working on beats, making new blueprints, that these producers be listening to and copying my ghetto style! I’m still shooting my music out there to all the major artists. I’m also in the works of signing a production deal to do beats.

How was the video shoot for ‘Nothing But The Truth’ for Tay Dizm?

It was a good shoot, it wasn’t too long. It got over 79,000 plays the first day on wshh.com and over 100,000 on youtube.

That’s whats up! How does it feel to be part of the movement going on right now in Dade County? Because people might not know, but you have been grinding hard for many years, and you are the man behind the scenes responsible for what is known as ‘stick music’.. That’s gotta feel like an accomplishment…

It feels great to start a new whole genre of music, to make a whole new pattern, a new fresh breath of air. When we first took it to all the major lables, they didn’t even know what to call it. They called it pop, they called it hiphop, they didnt know what it was. Eventually Piccalo named it ‘Stick Music’. The word ‘stick’ came from a dance that people had created in the hood, while they listended to Piccalos’ music and his vocals. It feels great to see the whole Florida back it up and spread it more throughtout the U.S. I’m constantly making different types of blueprints. I like coming up with my own styles and my own shit. Being latin in the game, there arent many latins who got the deals I got, like with Universal Music Group, it feels great to have that. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone who is from Nicaragua having a deal with Steve Rifkin, who signed artists like Wu-Tang, Big Pun,  David Banner etc… When I’m in the studio I go hard with the artist, I like to have an influence on the artist when were creating. I don’t like to give the artist the beat and let him do what he does, I like to have an influence on the track cause my name is behind it.

Speaking of Piccalo, what’s good on his end? Can you tell us what is expected from him?

We’re nearing the finishing of Deslocs’ album, we got the remix out there with Jermaine Dupri, Pitbull, Flo Rida, and Naughty Black. We got the ‘Vibin” record going hard on the Dj Khaled album ‘We Global’. We got the record ‘Stickin Again’ and the new record called ‘I’m Gone’. The latest track we’re pushin is ‘Hate On Me feat. Case. Besides that, Piccalo is on Trick Daddy’s new album Finally Famous on the track called ‘What Dey Do’. He’s also on Icebergs’ album, on a track called ‘Reason To Hate’. Piccalo is going to the top. People copy his sounds, his music, his lyrics. It’s easy to copy soembody but it’s hard to be original. So I definately know Piccalo will be one of the biggest stars in the world. You could buy his music on itunes, amazon.com, or any of your favirote ringtones sites.

Aight, that’s whats up. Tell me about Loc & Grind… What acts you got lined up for us?

Loc & Grind is owned by me, Piccalo and Billy Grind. We formed Loc & Grind because we didn’t wanna sign to a lable and not have a future for ourselves. So we got a marketing and distriubtion deal with SRC Records and Universal. For the furutre of Loc & Grind we got Thug Pound, we got Heat Pack, Laz Da Voice (the rnb act), and many other groups coming out are in the studio right now. We’re really just trying to put out hit records. If it ain’t a hit we ain’t even keeping the recording. Just cause I’m a producer and CEO of Loc & Grind, we don’t only use my production, we take beats from other producers, so if you got a hot beat; send it to locgrind305@gmail.com. I don’t care if the producer is 11 years old, if he got that hit song, then he got it. Straight up.

I know you a Miami boy for life, so how do the various etnicities affect your production?

I feel like, my production is not affected by any etnicity, I like all sorts of music. I play the guitar and the piano myself. I like rock, orchestra, jazz, pop, rnb, I’m influenced by all types of music. That’s why I’m always trying to come up with something new everytime I’m in the studio. Maybe thats why my music is so different than other producers in the industry.

Got any artists in mind who might swing towards the reggaeton genre?

My RnB artist sings salsa, merengue and reggaeton. So you will be hearing some reggaeton from him. We’re doing an english album and a spanish album. So look out for that.

What about Ghetto? Will he do any reggaeton?

I would definately do features with artists. I rap, I sing. I could see myself doing it. I’ve produced reggaeton music, but like I say, I do any kind of beats. Reggaeton has changed a lot too, it ain’t just latin anymore, it’s more like latin hiphop. I would definately work with a reagggaeton artist.

Care to comment on the Pocalik Clan?

Originally I’m known for being part of it. And I still am part of the group. We are working on a future Pocalik album, it’s in the works. And we still got love for all our fans who supported the music and Pocalik movement. The Pocalik was something more political than it just being some gangster music. It stood for fighting against police brutality and the way the police treats us and disrespect us on the street. You could still check out Pocalik on myspace.com/pocalik.
