In preparation for this past Memorial Day Weekend Young Jeezy teamed up with DJ Drama for “The Real Is Back” which was the first time they have worked with each other since their “Classic” first mixtape “Trap or Die” and “Cant Ban Da Snowman”. But once again Jeezy fails to capture that same emotions and records that made the world fall in love with his music. Since releasing his last album “The Recession” and “Trap or Die 2” mixtape not much else has been working for Jeezy lately. Not that this latest project is horrible, “The Real Is Back” is just a solid mixtape just like his previous release of “Last Laugh”but enough. A solid project might be  great for some artist or an up and coming artist trying to make a name for himself but Young Jeezy was once at a level where he dropped “Classic” after “Classic” mixtape or albums and the streets felt it and anticipated it’s release every time. Which is why in my opinion his next album “TM103” is still without a release date. Usually, Jeezy would be on a hot feature similar to the current DJ Khaled latest single featuring Drake, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross “I’m On One” or Ace Hood “Hustle Hard Remix” or even DJ Khaled “Welcome To My Hood” original or remix(similar to Jeezy being featured on DJ Khaled Hit/Street singles such as “I’m So Hood” or “Brown Paper Bag” to “We Takin Over”  and “Fed Up”)but as of late no one outside of Wiz Khalifa and Alley Boy no one else seem to have given Jeezy a phone call for a feature lately. So that’s leaves Young Jeezy last big feature on a top selling album “Unforgettable” off of Drake “Thank Me Later” album from June 2010(Which was a timeless and well produced record). I personally think Jeezy needs a hit more than he needs to keep dropping mixtures and trying to take over the streets once again. One “Hit Record or Street Anthem” makes people forget anything you dropped previously, just ask Ace Hood who has been pushing his buzz to another level since the release of his Lex Luger produced “Hustle Hard”! So getting back in the studio with proven hit makers that has chemistry with Jeezy already such as J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League only makes perfect sense to me. But still in all whether this happens or not Young Jeezy projects “Thug Motivation:101”, “Inspiration:102”, and “The Recession” albums will always be apart of my music collection!
