In last week’s Pulse of the Nation we touched on T.I.’s impending incarceration and the question marks that surrounded it. This week, we didn’t stray too far from that subject but put a different spin on things by focusing on a man who was just recently released from jail himself, none other than Gucci Mane.

Last year Mane was sentenced to a year in jail for various probation violations stemming from his 2005 conviction for assault. When Mane was initially arrested in 2005 he was ordered to serve 600 hours of community service but was found to have only served 25 over a three year period. In addition, Mane tested positive for ecstasy, alcohol, and marijuana, which resulted in the judge’s order of one year in jail to be served immediately starting in September of 2008.

Mane would turn a negative into a positive, however, and ended up being released early due to good behavior. Mane was officially released for an Atlanta detention center earlier this month and MTV.com reported that after being released he immediately went to the studio to record some tracks. Mane would later perform a small ‘Welcome Back Concert’ to the surprise of some and it is obvious from his early actions that Mane hasn’t lost a step while being away from the scene.

Rumors later would circulate of the possibility of Mane hooking up with songstress Mya, and it seems obvious that Mane’s buzz is again on high. Wanting to get a deeper perspective of Mane’s situation, 24 Hour Hip Hop looked into some of the busiest forums on the net to see what everyone is saying about Gucci Mane. In their own words, these are some thoughts from the everyday public regarding the release of Gucci Mane…

“Mane said he never doubted he would be out early and gave shouts to fans (who wrote him many letters of support) for helping him get through his incarceration. That term included nearly four months in isolated 23-hour lockdown (for his own protection) after he was beaten by another inmate in August. Glad he’s out.”

Robophynoex (Defsounds.com)
“Gucci definitely keeps it 100% when it comes to spittin’ bout what he lives, and to have that much money from it, I guess you can say he’s somewhat livin’ the “hustlers dream”.”

Excluzive505 (HipHopDX Forums)
“Damn this is silly. I’m from New York and I appreciate music from all places. I think gucci has no talent (no offense to the south) but I admit T.I’s last album was sic and I also appreciate some of wayne’s music. Now I do favor NY cats because thats what people do, we rep whats close to us. If you dont like the music then just say that.”

Danbash (Defsounds.com Forums)
“I don’t know why, but people in the ATL are obesessed with this clown and OJ the Juiceman. Both suck, but that goes without saying.”

JasonCTown (HipHopDX Forums)
“Sooooooooo, let me get this straight?!?! Becuz Gucci is ‘real’ in the streets, that makes his garbage lyrics worth a shit? I can respect TI, shit even Wayne, but this dickhead?!?!?? Didnt Souljah Boy sell a mil??? So that makes him hot too then, huh? The youth is lost, and when shit rappers speak, dumb mutha fuckas listen…..”

STL (TheForumSite.com)
“Gucci Mane hasn’t been left out of any mixtape or CD in my car in the last 3 months, every week a song I love is coming from him and to a lesser degree Plies & Gorilla Zoe.”

“What the heck, Mya is really proving to have a thing for rappers. First The Game, now Gucci Mane?”

OG (NahRight.com Forums)
“Why do people love to hate Gucci? Take his music for what it is and let Gucci do Gucci. I know I’m not lookin for jay-z when I put in Traphouse. Come on people lighten up. Gucci is great!!!”

MissGAPeach (LipstickAlley.com Forums)
“If you live in the A then you know that rapper Gucci Mane got sprung this weekend — in more ways than one. Well, guess who was waiting for him with open arms when he got out of the slammer? Mya! Can you believe it? I mean, first The Dream hooking up with Christina Milian, and now Mya and Gucci Mane may be boo’d up? I hear they were inseparable in the VIP at Studio 72 Saturday night in Atlanta. They say Mya and Gucci were so tight you couldn’t slide an American Express black card between the two of them.”

Pistola (Myxss.com Forums)
“Gucci been out for a while now….so expect the mixtapes to be dropping soon…”

Ruff Rydin 4 Life (HipHopDX Forums)
“Yo Gucci Mane is my nucca simply because he keeps it real all the time…I mean he came home prior to this jail release and has always maintained his gangsta and kept himself relevant in the South. I’m from Boston and up here some of us even fuck with Gucci. When I first saw Gucci on the ‘Icy’ video I thought he was trash but he has grown on me and today is a new day because the dude is free. He’s about to make some bangers and if the streets are backing him up then he’s all good. I hope he stays out of trouble and does his requirements for the judge and court.”
