24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.

Diggs: My name is “DIGGS”, FKA :Mr. Doing It Gully Gully Sh*t”, AKA O Jersey, but all my checks say Omarr Jacobs.

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?

Diggs: I’ve always been inspired “Performing Arts,” my mom was a “painter” and my father was a “sketcher,” so being “artistic” was all “X & Y Chromosome.” I was one of those poor kids who enjoyed history and art. I could go to the museum and find enjoyment or I would watch PBS after “Sesame Street” would go off just so I can watch the Orchestra & Opera performance. I was weird lmao.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

Diggs: Man, listen I was blessed. I grew up at a time when It was all about “hardcore”. Like you had to prove that you were the man you said you were period. I mean the talent bar was high, Def Jam had all the artist, there was really a reason to by CDs. I mean we had Def Squad. I was the biggest “Redman” fan in the world. lol! we had Boot Camp Click, Mobb Deep, Bad Boy, Wutang Clan, Onyx, M.O.P, Tribe Called Quest, NWA, Canibus, Naughty By Nature, De La Soul, Dogg Pound, Busta Rhymes, Rocafella, Ghetto Boys & Ruff Ryders, And if you weren’t apart of either of those squads most likely I either never listened to your music or you just didn’t matter. gully! lol

24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?

Diggs: I’m a “humble” and I’m “Gully’. I tell people all the time, I’m a “Gully Christian”. I am the same dude that will pray for you then slap the sh*t outta you, lmao. So when it comes to my music I guess I just apply the same attitude. lmao.

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

Diggs: Well, right now we just dropped “G.M.2: A.O.A” which is “Gunn Musik Vol 2: Assholes Of America” lol. Me and my world re-know producer “Clipsmoke” are working on a conglomerate project called “Classes with BIG”. which is a homage for the late great Christopher Wallace. Its a very intense and creative album for one of the greatest. Outside of that we’re working on my very first complete album called “April Fools Day” which is probably about 50% done. The good part is we probably have record honestly almost 80 ideas which will be shaved down to a great 15-18 track album. lmao.

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

Diggs: Well, right now I’m working with “Gabriel “@Clipsmoke” Rivera “Mr Murksville USA” himself lol! just spell his name right and follow him on twitter lmao. Yeah that’s my brother from another mother. Ive worked with some names. NYC’s “Liveson” from the D-Block/ Ruff Ryders who actually produced Jadakiss first gold album. NC’s “Dox” from Doxkingdom Production whom was protege of one of my past personal producers before the lime lite 9th Wonder of the group “Little Brother. he was actually the very first landmark producer in my career. Who I would like to work with in the future that’s easy “DJ Premier, Illmind. RZA, Hitboy, Just Blaze, Rockwilder & Dr Dre, Not exactly in the specific order. lol

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

Diggs: Actually I am surprised that in a world full of “happy go lucky” music still has a place for fans to want hardcore Hip -Hop. So i’m always please with my feedback, sh*t I would be even more happy once the country felt the same. lmao I think I leave room for artist to believe if you do what you want or know best the masses are still going to like what you give them, So yeah I’m happy just waiting on my moment.

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?

Diggs: A “hypnotize kit” by the markers “Trinidad James, Soulja Boy, & Rick Ross” lmao nah I’m kidding, Honestly your branding & marketing has to be gully! You have to give your name or product life, provide it with a movement, make it a sign, then get it a following. Once that occurs you should have grandparents that know your name. lmao

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

Diggs: I think Hip-Hop is intentionally taking bad turns as a marketing tool. I just got this weird feeling that we’re in the “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” era. Everybody is smiling, telling joke, partying, flashing money, jewelry, cars, clothes all types of luxury exposure for not taking life serious. I think hip hop has taken a twist to say what they believe is actually talent by marking everything and anything as being talented as along as it can make a dollar. So again if we’re in a “Fresh Prince” era we are only days away from music meaningful with music. I’m talking troubling times, oppressed, recession, social boundaries, civil purposes for violence, pure honest expressive hardcore hip hop. Its time to get back to slapping the shit out of the weak and incompetent lmao.

24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?

Diggs: Outside of the music, I do a little acting in which 2013 starts the beginning of step to the cameras lol. I also have two designer clothing lines that I’ve kept quite under the pillow, along with the extensive branding of the music label’s gear for “Murksville USA”. I also ghostwrite for Hip Hop, Rock and R&B and co-produce. So there’s a couple projects I should be seeing check from “God willing”. Other then that I’m involved with a “10” man project of solo artist and squads called #HMC. Which stands for “Hitmob, Murksville & Curtain muzik”. Something to wake NJ up Fo Sho! Lol

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

Diggs: As far as 2012 God has already blessed me with a full year, I dropped “GM2”, we’ve started working on “Classes with BIG”. I’m already loading up and setting my watches for 2013. We’re on our “Call Of Duty/ Expendables” sh*t over here, so anything and anybody in the way is just a victim or example.
