24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.

Domo Mayo: First off I go by the name of Domo Mayo out of Brooklyn NY.  As a kid encountered and seen a lot of things but turning all my negatives into positives.

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?

Domo Mayo: Cool, before anything let me get this across, I didn’t choose music, music chose me.  I got into music from simply hanging out in the studio on an everyday basis and one morning I woke up and said let me try it, and from that day on I loved every part of it. That’s when I knew this is what I wanna do for the rest of my life.

24:  What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

Domo Mayo: Hmmm, growing up the Notorious B.I.G. was the king of my city, but NY as a brand has so many house hold names from Jay Z, Big L, Big Pun, ODB and the list can continue to go on.  Me personally I grew up on B.I.G. because that’s pretty much all my dad listened to when we drove places.

24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?

Domo Mayo: What makes me unique as a artist is that I am willing to express myself about what I encountered n my past to get a person to feel where I came from.  Not to glorify the fact that things was hard because honestly tons of people had it hard but the most important part about it is how I evolved from what I been through and what I am doing now.  Also I am into all types of music n I feel that I’m very versatile and many ways.

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

Domo Mayo: As of right now I feel like I am not in a place to drop a mixtape or anything, so right now I’m just building my name and trying to gain a fan base before anything else.  When the time is right I will know, but right now the time is just not right.

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

Domo Mayo: I have worked with this producer by the name of Super Sam, Carolina Slim from NC, and this guy name Turtlesf and he has produced for artists such as Fabolous, Lloyd Banks, Cory Gunz, and so fourth.  I would like to work with Young Chop, Swizz Beatz, Lex Luger, Kanye, and Ryan Leslie.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

Domo Mayo: Yes, for the most part I’m pretty ok, but I feel when I am viewed a tab bit more my response will be a whole lot better.

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?

Dom Mayo: Pretty much just be different, you have to find your own nitch.  Do something that makes people love you for you don’t try and imitate no 1 else because that ruins everything.  Like I ride dirt bikes just like Meek Millz but I didnt wanna ride his wave to gain a fan.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?

Domo Mayo: I feel like this Hip-Hop scene is perfect for a young inspiring artist such as myself.  It’s there for you, it’s just up to you to go get it if you really want it.  New sound, new talent, new everything.

24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?

Domo Mayo: Outside of music I’m just living life pretty much riding my bike when the weather is cool building new relationships and just working on myself to become a better person as well as an artist.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve

Domo Mayo: In 2013 I am going to work my ass off to get it is what I want.  They say hard-work beats talent when talent fails to work hard, but what if you have that talent and that work ethic your pretty much almost there correct?  I am just going to continue to do me and make music that people can relate to and really feel where im coming from but also make that bouncy music that makes people move around and them clubs.

24: How can fans go about contacting you?
