It has been a known fact that DJs are the pinnacle of the music world in each and every city across the world. However, when a DJ transitions into a rapper, the stakes are higher, and the grind becomes more of a challenge. Everything is set in front of them and as they take their career to the top, while at the same time giving DJs the same respect that artists have given them before.

One highly infamous DJ has been the forefront of his own circuit, his own movement for quite some now and has officially made that transition from DJ to Artist. With the many people supporting his cause, the singles have already spoken for him before he was to say anything himself. Many people have known him simply as Rhymer, now years later he incorporates the ‘Fat Boy’ in front of the Rhymer moniker and he officially has his own character and stage persona. This is the second and quite possibly the most important interview with the now Fat Boy Rhymer that’s become a recording beast in the studio.

24: How has everything been since the last time we spoke?

Fat Boy: Just been in the studio coming up with the new mixtape “Fat Boy Rhymer: Now that I Have Your Attention”

24: Why did you transition into a rapper from a DJ?

Fat Boy: It’s simple, I been a DJ for a while and people been telling me that I have the voice to be a rapper, so I took that and ran with it.

24: Was the transition easy or difficult?

Fat Boy: Well I’d say that it was both, easy because of the fan base I had going, but difficult because all the completion out there.

24: You have this whole thing based on this shirt off situation, what’s that about?

Fat Boy: Well I’m a big boy, a sexy one at that. I rather not be on stage holding my pants I wanted to come with something of my own … so I get on stage and take my shirt off to let everyone know that I’m fat and I’m proud.

24: Let’s go back in time, what was your first single?

Fat Boy: My first single was “She Got Me” it was a song I did with my brother, Kuttaman, it was the first song I put money behind and it was “Bumping” every where… Back corner clubs, high schools, and strip clubs, I was making $500 a show and the song after that was “Wham.”

24: So did you come up with the concept of “Now That I Got Your Attention” for your first mix tape?

Fat Boy: I started walking in clubs with these outrageous outfits and people were looking at me like “what was he thinking?” and I looked at it like “now that I got your attention check me out.”

24: Why did you name the first single on your mixtape “Don’t Kill Me with It?”

Fat Boy: I’m a phrase type of guy and you know how people want to be calling your phone making situations bigger than what they are. I figure that I’d make a phrase to put a stop to all that & that’s how I came up with “Don’t Kill Me with it.” Don’t kill me with your lies or fairy tales, just don’t.

24: How do your fans go about booking you?
