24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.

G-Lloyd: Wassup, wassup , the name is G-Lloyd coming out of Brooklyn, NY, what’s going on world.

24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you?

G-Lloyd: I always loved music and could always tell good music from the bad. Rhyming has always been easy to me so one day I just got in the studio with my boy, Vaughn, and everyone there was telling me I sound like I been doing this for a while, a lot of them didn’t know that was my first time ever recording a song. I’ve been running with it ever since.

24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?

G-Lloyd: Growing up in Brooklyn, there was lot of Biggie, Jay-z, Nas, Cash Money, Busta Rhymes, Fabolous. The Bad Boy era, the Rocafella era, State Property, all of that was real heavy out here in the 90’s and early 2000’s.

24: What makes you Unique as an artist and different from other rappers out now?

G-Lloyd: I believe I have what people want to hear right now. A lot of people lie in their rhymes nowadays. Everyone wants to be a killer, a drug dealer, and that’s cool if you really livin’ that life, but if you’re not, you’re only fooling yourself. In songs, I can say me and my homies threw $10,000 out last night in the strip club and it’s really true, I’m all about truth in my rhymes. I also have a good flow, I can hop on any beat and my punchlines are good, some of them you gotta rewind the track back like, “Damn, did he just say that?!?”

24: Tell us about what you are working on.

G-Lloyd: Right now, I’m working on some shows and my 3rd mixtape, I don’t know what it’s going to be called yet, my 2nd mixtape “The Sequel” is done. I finished it a couple of days ago, you can go find that right now on DatPiff.com or HotNewHipHop.com. I’m just working out here tryna open up doors.

24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?

G-Lloyd: I’ve worked with D-Vo, he’s a young hot producer coming out of Brooklyn. I’ve worked with Kev Keys, originally from Atlanta, but he’s staying out in New York now. I’m working on some major producers right now, don’t wanna let all my goodies out the bag yet, just stay tuned. In the future, I would like to work with Pharrell, Lex Luger, Swizz Beatz, Rockwilder, and Dr. Dre. In due time, I will, I just gotta keep up this good work.

24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?

G-Lloyd: Absolutely, the feedback has been great, between my YouTube page, my ReverbNation page, and my videos on WorldStar, I’ve got a lot of people reaching out to me, it’s going good.

24: In today’s free download age, what do you need that you don’t have to make yourself a household name?

G-Lloyd: I believe I have everything to make myself a household name, I’ve only been rapping since September (of 2011) and people think I’ve been doing this for years. All I have to do is link up with the right people, show them what I have to offer, and the rest is history.

24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip‐Hop scene?

G-Lloyd: The current Hip-Hop state is good to me. Everyone likes what they like, if you wanna feel the streets, you can throw on some Jeezy or Meek Mill, if you wanna lay back and chill pop in some Drake. You got Lil B for the rebels, you can swag it out with Soulja Boy and Juelz, you got Stalley for the revolutionary thinkers, or get a little wacky with Tyler the Creator. Everyone has their own interests and Hip-Hop has different artists that provide that variety.

24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?

G-Lloyd: Me and my friends are working on a t-shirt line called “Pocketful,” something new and nice. You’ll see it in my upcoming videos, just stay tuned.

24: Where do you see yourself going in 2012 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artists out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?

G-Lloyd: In 2012, I am gonna be working on some more mixtapes, some collabs with some major artists, hopefully some labels take interest in me and I can provide them with some good music, I just gotta stay in the studio and those calls and emails will keep coming in.

24: How can fans go about contacting you?

G-Lloyd: My twitter is @CrooklynBorn, my Facebook is “Gee Lloyd,” my email is GLloydMusic@gmail.com, my music pages are YouTube.com/GLloydMusic, and ReverbNation.com/GLloydMusic. Go download the mixtapes at DatPiff.com type in “The Sequel,” and “The Intro.” I’m also on WorldStar, just type in ‘G-Lloyd.’
