Italia Blaq: I’m Italia Blaq the lady’s lady. I need y’all to get familiar because the LEGACY has already begun!
24HHH: How did you come up with your Artist name? Tell us about it.
Italia Blaq: My name is a direct reflection of who I am. My mother is majority Italian with french, candian, indian and german blood. My father is African American with island blood. That gives you me Italia Blaq!
24HHH: What was the hip hop scene like for you growing up where your from?
Italia Blaq: I’m from the city of Lauderhill in Broward County, Florida. Growing up there was crazy. There were dboys on every corner, shoot outs outside of my window, all type of stuff but I love how I grew up in the same breath. I have equally good and bad memories. It all just made me well rounded and aware of what goes on in the world. I’ve seen a lot from a young age.
24HHH: Who were you raised by? Tell us your family situation. Got any
brothers, sisters, or any siblings? Tell us about your childhood,
Italia Blaq: My mom raised me and my older brother as a single parent. My father died when I was 6. I also had an older sister from my dad, that played a great role in my life, almost as a second parent!
24HHH: And how it impacted your music?
Italia Blaq: In the third grade my brother and I would make cassette tape recordings of ourselves playing music from one radio and recording us rapping on the bigger one! I’ve loved music every since
