24: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are.
Klarity: I go by Klarity. I’m an artist out of the 716 Buffalo, NY STAND UP!
24: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about how you got into and what inspired you.
Klarity: Music’s always been an outlet for me personally. As well as something I realized I outshine most around me doing. I was about 12 when i started writing poetry which evolved into music. Music really sets the tone for my lifestyle I just couldn’t see myself doing anything else.
24: What was the Hip-Hop scene like for you growing up where you’re from?
Klarity: Well I originate in the 716 where i grew up listening to a lot of Nas and Pac, some Montell Jordan, Bone Thugs N Harmony, 112, Jay-Z, and that’s just a few. But I spent a few years down in South Carolina where I really picked up on a different influence music like Trick Daddy, Lil Jon, Three 6 Mafia, a real southern feel to what I was already doing. I’ve also really had a strong R&B feel all through out growing up as well R.Kelly, Isley Brothers, Usher, and MJ himself! Man the list goes on!
24: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers out now?
Klarity: What makes me different? Everything.. my sound my work ethic i want this more than i want to breathe.. I live this music. Between the grind and how hard i work to make every single song a hit! NO FILLER TRACKS! I set high standards for myself look for the hottest rapper in the game at the time and aim to make better material. I also believe strongly in professionalism I’m willing to do whatever it takes rather its spending money on an opportunity or driving cross country with my team im always dedicated to make changes for my dream at any second.
24: Tell us about what you are working on.
Klarity: Right now, I’m working on my summer mix-tape Loud Pack’s and 808’s set to drop July 1st possibly earlier. The tape iv been working very hard on for about a year straight its full of nothing but hits really excited to drop that as well as a few world star videos off the tape as well!!!
24: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work with in the future?
Klarity: Man, I’ve worked a lot with my man Eriek otb from Niagara Falls, NY stand up! he’s produced hits for multiple industry artists like Kid Ink’s Firestorm to name just one. As well as Tbooze the super producer also from Niagara Falls, NY. As well as some other local producers and some national. I’d love to work with Mike will, DJ Drama, DJ Mustard, DJ EV from Cleveland! So many more!
24: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people on material you have released?
Klarity: I know there will be haters critics, etc, but overall, yes I’m gettin mad love in my city some nationally. Had quite a few shows last summer, I’m happy with the feedback but there’s always more room to grind!
24: In today’s free download age, what do you need to do to make yourself a household name?
Klarity: Social networking. PERIOD! And I’m working on it! But nowadays money seems to come more from endorsement deals and shows tours and less from album sales. Working on going viral world star sponsors and LOYAL FANS most importantly!
24: How do you feel about the current state of the Hip-Hop scene?
Klarity: Resurrection in the making. A lot of talent, A lot! I think it’s headed in the right direction no question. All I’m waiting for is my chance to contribute!
24: Outside of the music, what else are you currently working on?
Klarity: Others than videos and music really not much. The grind don’t stop!
24: Where do you see yourself going in 2013 and how do you plan to separate yourself from the other artist out today to get the recognition you feel you deserve?
Klarity: This year is the year for me, my teams dedicated to dropping this tape with a major sponsor under wraps right now! A few world star videos in the works! Some traveling for features and shows! This year is all about expansion for us. Let me put it this way as far as the next question goes.. Without arrogance I put in the work necessary to be nothing but the best at what I do. Not for the money fame for music.. For fans I’m constantly pushing hits every single track never settle for anything less. My standards are too high for a lot of competition man this game ain’t built for everyone, a lot of elite competition!
