What is your name?

I go by Overdose but my real name is Viral Khatri.

How did you get your Hip Hop name?

I got my name threw a hommie out in Oakland. He called me up callin me Overdose because he had a song on repeat that I had done with him when I first started rapping.

Tell us about your background-where you’re from, what kind of music you

listen to, who your influences are…

I was born and raised in Belmont, Ca in the peninsula of the Bay. I grew up listen to to mostly Pac because that all my cousins where slappin back in the days and still Pac is one of my top 5 favorite artist. As far as influences it would be all the rappers from the 90’s they always kept it 100 with there music.

What made you pursue a career in music?

Music is always something that I have liked since I was a little kid. Everytime I would hear some dope effect in a song I would always wonder how they did it. Then wen I was around 17 a found my homeboy Armando Puente. He was engineering and teaching me how to make beats when I 1st meet him. Ever since then he’s been showing me the ropes.

What have you been working on lately?

My latest project that is about to drop is with Shady Nate of Livewire. We have a album that about to drop called “Money Talks.” Ima also doing mixtapes with the Hoodstarz from East Palo Alto and Lil Flip from Houston,TX as well as my own mixtape’s.

How did you meet Lil Flip?

I didn’t meet Lil Flip personaly till we actually die the “Im Gone”video with him, but a homie I was networking with out in Texas connected me with him. He had already done a few shows with him.

Whats your latest single, who produced it??

My latest single I have out right now is the song with Lil Flip called “Im Gone.” My boy David Spears also known as Natural Selection produced it.

Tell us about your new projects your working on??

My newest project im working on is called “Whats Your Medicine Part II.”It’s very feature heavy, talking about getting faded!

Who are some of the artists you have collaborated with?

A lot of bay rappers such as Big Rich, J Stalin, D-lo, Ya Boy and many more. Out of the bay I’ve done songs with Dub C of westside connection, Layzie Bone from Bone Thugs n Harmony, and Billy Blue from Poe Boy Music Group.

Do you have anything new that the public should know about?

Just be on the lookout from all my new projects along with mine and my brothers clothing line called Nibo.

What is one of the bigger highlights of your career, in your eyes?

My 1st show is the biggest high light in my eyes. I was really nervous but once I was on stage it was a wrap. All the nervous feeling went away and it was easy as hell to perform.
