24HHH: Intorduce yourself to everyone that doesnt
already know who you are

QP: Wassup yall this Quailz P. straight from Ridgeland, South Carolina. Representing The Elite of the Street/Duetime Entertainment

24HHH: Before we get into your music, can you describe your history about and what inspired you?

QP: I loved music ever since I was lil, but what truly inspired me to rap was Jay-Z 1st Doubt. It sounds funny because I’m from the south but I was raised up on up north music. Just the way how he put words together and how people reacted when they heard it I knew that’s what I wanted to do.

24HHH: What was the hip hop scene like for you growing up where your from

QP: I had the privilege of experiencing both scenes. I was a big fan of the No Limit and Hot Boy movement growing up, as well as Outkast, UGK, 8ball&MJG and Three 6 Mafia. When I was living uptop I tho I was more into Jay-Z, Nas, Wu-Tang, Busta Ryhmes,Redman, Eminem etc…I always had my own mind when it came to music. I just enjoy to hear good music
in general.

24HHH: What makes you Unique as a artist and different from other rappers?

QP: I would say the fact that I’m street but at the same time that’s not all to me. I’ve experienced different things in life such as going to the military and traveling the world
but at the same time I faced a lot of hardships before, during, and after. And I’m not afraid to let people in my world.

24HHH: Tell us about what you are working on

QP: I’m currently promoting my new mixtape “Coldest In Da Country” that’s available on livemixtapes, datpiff, and bandcamp.com.

24HHH: What producers have you worked with and who would you like to work?

QP: I’ve worked with a few…mainly my producer Detrakz as well as Zach Zillion, Big Hurt, Cryptonite, Drum Gang, Vybe, Eddie&Jimmy Mestler from the UK, Dyce Mode…but I would def look forward to working producers like Mike Will, 9th Wonder, Premier, and Pharrel.

24HHH: Are you happy with the feedback you have been getting from people have released?

QP: Most def, haven’t heard anything negative yet. A lil constructive criticism from a few industry folks but all that is gone make me better. People hear my new project and it sounds like album to them and that’s
because I know what people want to hear. I’m a artist but I’m still a fan at the end of the day so I wont put anything out I cant jam.

24HHH: In todays free download age, what do you need to do to make your self a household name?

QP: I just really need to get out to the masses. Its hard to come out being from South Carolina because we don’t have much opportunities as most states. That’s why everyday Im on the internet networking with
different Djs and promoters to get out there even more. Because once you have a core fan base, ain no need for a label.

24HHH: How do you feel about the current state of the hiphop scene?

QP: I feel its getting back to that point it use to be slowly but surely. But I do feel like its just too many rappers…never seen this many rappers in my life and that makes it tougher for people like me because I have to really go the extra mile to stand out.

24HHH: Outside of the music what else are you currently working on?

QP: I’m working on desingns for apparel coming in 2014 and I’m also working on getting into real estate.

24HHH: Where do you see yourself going in 2014 and how do you plan to
from the other artist out today to get the
recognition you feel you deserve?

QP: I see myself in a better position than I’m in now. My music seperates me from a lot of artist already, so I just plan on growing more as an artist and continue to put out quality music. All about progression.
