24: Where are you from and how long have you been singing for?

Rimidi: I was born and raised in Miami, FL. I’m from “Rolling Oaks” to be exact. As long as I can remember singing has always been second nature to me. It’s something that I have been doing all of my life. I’ve sang in church, school, choirs, and in the shower(lol), and just about everywhere else. I always knew that this is what I wanted to do but until maybe 3 years ago, I decided to really step out and seriously seek a career doing so.

24: Who would you say are some of your musical inspirations?

Rimidi: Growing up my mom used to play a lot of music such as artist like Sade, Anita Baker, Stevie Wonder, Prince, etc. In addition to the fact that she sings as well. so I think ultimately she is the cause of what inspires me musically overall. I am completely opened to all kinds of music and new sounds because of her. Though I must say that Lauryn Hill has had a tremendous effect on me as well. I remember mimicking her ad lib’s over and over again until I got it exactly right. Of course, she isn’t the only one though, just the one I can remember the most vividly. Today I am inspired by the sounds of simply “Good Music“, especially from the likes of Outkast, Cee-lo, Anthony Hamilton, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.

24: How would you describe your sound and style?

Rimidi: I like to say that my sound is rather eclectic and a mixture of all things good. My style is a reflection of who I am and all that has brought me to where I am today. Three words to describe my style is laid back, comfortable but still appealing.

24: Who are some of the producers you have been working with and who are a few that you are looking forward to working with later down the line?

Rimidi: Currently, I am getting ready to work on my freshman album with Producers Moonshyne Brown, Midus, Slim Goodbody and Rich P and J Styles of REAL. They are such good people and so very talented. I am so happy and blessed to have such a great team. As far as producers I would love to work with in the future, there are so many and I’d be happy to work with any who are indeed the best at what they do! However, Ill be the happiest girl in the world the day that I am able to collaborate with Pharell Williams and Timbaland.

24: Right now would you say that is any label that would fit you perfect as an artist?

Rimidi: Right now my eyes are open to a select few, both major and independent. However, any label that sees my vision, supports it and is aligned with what I see for myself as an artist-giving me the go. We can make wonderful things happen.

24: What have you been up to lately?

Rimidi: In addition to my album, I am also a songwriter and vocal arranger (RimidiMusic) so I have been in the lab working with producers, artists and other songwriters. With that being said, I am always looking for songwriting opportunities and collaborations.

24: What advice would you give to other up and coming from your experience so far?

Rimidi: I know that this is said often but I would have to say to never give up only because I know how it feels to want to. Before you can receive the blessings, you have to face the obstacles. Keep “GOD” first, always work hard and continue to keep a positive mind through it all. Also, you don’t have to conform to anything other than yourself so don’t be afraid to be just that. After all, that is what makes you who you are: the artist.

24: What should everyone look out for from you in 2009 going into 2010?

Rimidi: My album drops at the top of the year so I plan to make my mark in 2010. I promise to deliver good, quality and desirable music no matter your preference and if I had to describe it in one word it would be “Magic“. I also plan to put a tour together in Florida, Atlanta and the UK in the Summer of 2010 with other local soul and alternative soul artists like myself, so any interested booking agents please contact me.
