For the people who don’t know you what is your name and where are you from?

My name is StarBeats and I’m from down here in Miami.

How old were you when you got into music and production?

I was 19 when I first started.

What kind of equipment do you use when your making a track.

I use a mac with cubase and logic.

Who are a few of the artists you’ve work with and have put out projects with?

I currently did a contract with a local group called RNU I’ve been producing for them. along with another artist thats under We Good Ent. with Ballgreezy named

Crucial. I did “Get Ya Drink On”.

Do you do any sampling and if you do what era of music or genre inspires you the most?

Well I use allot of old school. Like the Temptations themes.

Do you have any back round with musical training or did you pick up your talent through the streets.

Well you know I was originally in football and they wanted me to go ahead and play football so I went to Clark Atlanta.  first and foremost i wanted to make sure they had my major which is music. So while I was ballin and shit, they had the music program. So one day I went to go check out the facilities and we went around the campus so I was asking people, “Where is the music department?”. When we got there they were in rehearsal with the whole chorus and at my last school I took the piano. I felt like i had to take it to the next level. I always had a love for music I was just growing up off music. Listen to Biggie, Tupac so when i was at Clark I thought football isn’t promised to anybody and you know what Im gonna go back to the crib.

So i went to school for it strictly. So i had went to SAE thats off of west dixi highway, they taught me how to put the music together along with some engineering. But due to circumstances and situations I did not get to finish it. But I got enough to keep making beats and Im getting better everyday.

So what would you consider your first big break?

Well I would consider working with crucial who signed to ballgreezys label. Me and him were talking about how I was gona make the beats and he was gonna ripp them. So I said I got you and when I got back to the crib we got started. We did the track  “Get Your Vibe On”  and we aint stopping.

How important do you feel it is for inspiring producers to be aware of there legal rights?

Its very very important. I take it very seriously ,when I went to that school luckily i stayed for a part of business . But its always good to get your work copy written. I do mine in bulk and when I finish one batch I get started on the next batch.

So do you have any projects we can look for?

Yes the group Im working with RNU is currently working on there album right now.

They have already gotten 3 tracks from me for that project. Definitely as soon as they are done they have some shows coming up at the Florida Classic that will be real big. Also everything I”ve been doing with Crucial we definitely pushing “Get Ya Vibe On”. Definitely making big moves.

So for the artist independently looking for tracks how can they get at you?
