24: What is distinctive about The Colleagues production?
We use live instruments a lot, and we love creative melodies, simple is cool but we love melodies that just stick out and have some feeling

24: What made you want to produce compared to being an artist or singer, manager, etc?
Shitt, I wish I could sang then I would do that lol…but my partner sings though so thats a avenue that he is looking into along with production.

24: What other producers, songwriters and/or artists do you see as your primary inspirations?
Trick Stewart is personally one of my fav out right now…and I would have to say my other one would be Mannie Fresh, hes the reason why Im doing what im doing

24: Do you both consider yourself a producer or a beat maker and explain why for either answer?
Both, Sometimes we might build the track from scratch with a idea and know the direction of where it’s going and work with the artist on creating it, that’s the producer side, sometimes we might make a track and not know where to go with it and just give it to ‘em and say just do your thang. That’s the beatmaker side

24: Who are some other artists you’re trying to work with in the future?
T.I, Kanye West, Outkast, Babyface, Christina Aguilara and Lady Gaga

24: How do you guys approach making your beats, do you start with the drums first or a kick?
I never start with my drums, then I feel like I get the same ideas. That’s just how I was taught so I always start with the melody, then work my way into the drums. I’ll usually go through all my sounds and see which sound sticks out to me. My partner is a piano freak so he will usually start off playing the keys and sometimes I’ll jump in or I’ll let him do his thang and I’ll do the drums

24: Can you describe, briefly, how the two of you work together on a musical projects?
Well for example, right now we are working on a record with all live instruments. He played the keys, we lay down a basic bass line melody and basic drums and we got the bass guitar player and electric guitar player replaying it in their own style and same with the drummer. Then we go back to the track and add in the extra stuff. Its different every time but that’s just an example

24: What producer in the game at the moment makes you say damn! When you hear a beat they did and make you want to step up your production?
Shiit, I was in the studio with The Black Shield family and they played me several of Fat Boi’s beats and I got goose bumps! lol, but it all was motivation though but Fat Boi gave us some advice and encouragement that I will never forget.

24: Do you have any plans of starting a label later on and have artist(s) or do you just want to keep focusing on being the best producer possible?
Not starting a label as of now but we are working closely with 1090 Blokk Boyz and Pi Bang

24: Is there an artist you want to work with that you have not yet had the opportunity to work with?
 Michael Jackson.

24: Do you have a favorite musical project that you’ve worked on?
1090 Blokk Boyz – Nikki it was a lot of fun making that song, one of my fav, and I love when it comes on in the strip club lol

24: Do you have advice for young people who want to become music producers?
Go hard and don’t give up. There are a lot of dick riders in this game that will jump on board after you make a little noise and jump off when the party SEEMS over. Don’t get upset, just keep doing your thing. These A&R’s will make you feel as if you ain’t making hot enough shit at times but prove ‘em wrong, we in the same boat as y’all.

24: What do you like to do for fun outside of working on music?
Watch my World Champion Lakers play, really my life is surrounded by music so I’m always doing something towards that and same with my partner, he is always on the road playing live gigs with his band so that nigga always gone.

24: What’s some up and coming moves you’re trying to make in the near future that everyone should look out for?
We never let anyone know my next move until it happens. We are just spontaneous like that lol
