24hourhiphop.com chops it up with upcoming group VXMII. The group consists of 2 aritsts Z & EXTSE all the way from Perth Austrailia. They tell us about their upcoming projects, along with their current work. VXMII gives us insight into their lives at home. We also get a chance to find out what are their influences, what producers they've worked with and more. Check out the interview and let us know what you think!

24HHH: Introduce yourself to everyone that doesn’t already know who you are?

VXMII: Wassup everybody we are VXMII 2 unique rappers passionate about hiphop and pushing the movement/culture here in Perth City, Australia. PEACE!!

24HHH: How did you come up with your Producer/Artist name? Tell us about it.

VXMII: Z – Z is the first letter of my name and the human being is something I have adopted over time as I represent every human being. No matter what you do, where you go, you will always be a human being!

EXTSE – I've always been known as 'E' which is ironic because my first name is actually spelt with an 'I'. I guess the name EXTSE came as people always asked if it was E like the pill so I guess that it stuck. HOODLUM!!

24HHH: Where are you from, and what was it like growing up there?

VXMII: Z – A placenta haha! Originally I was born in Hamilton, New Zealand. I came to Perth, Australia when i was 5 years old, it was a pretty ordinary upbringing with it's ups and downs.

EXTSE – NEWTOWN 389 WELLY DEEP HOODLUM 04SHOW! New Zealand or as we like to call it Aotearoa 'The Land of the long white cloud' It was rough everyone I knew struggled in life, I really mean struggled! Surrounded by violence, gangs, welfare and heavily influenced by the HUSTLE! People in my neighbourhood had very little so what we did have we fought for.

24HHH: Who were you raised by? Tell us your family situation. Got any brothers, sisters, or any siblings? Tell us about your childhood, and how it impacted your music?

VXMII: Z – I was raised by my single mother, who always wanted the best for me so she worked her ass off to make sure I had a good life. SHOUT OUT MAMA Z!!

EXTSE – I was raised by my Father and my Mother though their relationship was rocky they would always stick it out for me and my brothers ( Big ups to Mum!) I have 2 younger brothers to my Mother and 2 older brothers to my Father. Growing up my 2 older brothers weren't always around so I took it upon my shoulders to act as the eldest and provide a stable role model for my siblings. And to answer your question about how it impacted my music I guess I never got to be a child. Besides school, working and hustling music was my only escape!
"A child in the hood is a childhood without one."

24HHH: What age did you start making music?

VXMII: Z – I started free styling and finding music as an outlet around 16/17. 18, I started getting a lot more focused and started taking it seriously.

EXTSE – I 've been writing since i was 11. Growing up surrounded by music in a culture where learning is taught through song! Flashback *I remember my first time on stage 12 years old rapping to Scribe Dreaming and loving the feeling!*

24HHH: What inspired you to pursue making music?

VXMII: Z – I was inspired and still am by the way you can bring life to something that has never been created and being able to put all of my bottled up emotions, feelings into a song for the world to hear and can relate to. Music is crazy in that sense.

EXTSE – Ummmm Damn listening to PAC definitely sparked the flame. Listening to WUTANG, N.W.A, B.I.G, D.P.G.C, SLIM SHADY and all that real old school rap that inspired me to pursue music. Just the feeling of listening to someone speaking about circumstances in their lives that just so happened to be occurring in mine and to know that I could one day maybe do the same.

24HHH: What artists/producers do you work with? Or rubbed shoulders with?

VXMII: We have had the pleasure in working with Asom Stordimento our French Connection/Mr.Got a Guy who produced and directed our latest single / Videoclip Freedom Defined! and all the team at BCK Studio.
We are also working with local artists ROYAL,H.AR.LEY and Mitch Banse both featuring on our debut mix tape "A Hoodlum & A Human Being".

24HHH: What else you got coming out? New Album? or Mixtape/EP?

VXMII: – We are also working on a WA Hip Hop Compilation being produced by BCK Studios featuring a few international artists. After that we will be working on bringing you " A Hoodlum & A Human Being Part 2" and looking to expand VXMII into a clothing line sometime in the future.

24HHH: Tell us about your newest single "Freedom Defined", how did you come up with that, share us the story?

VXMII: – "FREEDOM DEFINED!" is FREEDOM DENIED! is a song about consciously being free and equal. Taken from a quote Z's Aunty told him which inspired the concept and the birth of FREEDOM DEFINED!

24HHH: Where can people find you?
