Kevin Ware underwent surgery sunday night to repair his right tibia.It was one of the most horrific injuries to happen on the basketball court in recent history.It happend against Duke in the Midwest Regional final,according to reports Ware had the bone reset and a rod was inserted into the leg.The operation lasted about two hours and doctors are hoping he would be able to go home on tuesday.Experts are saying that this will be a lengthy recovery but most likely not a career ending one.
Coach Pitino stated a broken bone punctured the skin. “I went over and was going to help him up, and then all of a sudden I saw what it was,” he said. “And I literally almost threw up. And then I just wanted to get a towel to get it over that.”
Our hearts go out to Kevin Ware and is praying he makes a speedy recovery..
