Shame On The NYPD Blue
"Here we go again." I'm not quoting my man Dark Man X, I'm talking about the NYPD Fools. Another scandal for the boy's in blue. Two officers were arrested and charged with falsifying evidence on Wednesday Dec 19 2007. Apparently officers Julio Alvarez and Sean Johnstone are accused of stealing drugs after they arrested a drug suspect and supposedly took the drugs into their possession for evidence. The two officers work for the Brooklyn South Narcotics Division and were under investigation. Little did these clowns know, their conversations were being recorded and they were caught on tape talking about the 28 bags of coke they recovered from the bust as well as using racial slurs. After making this bust two of NYPD's finest neglected to turn in 11 bags from the 28 they recovered, and this is what was said on tape as well. The prosecutor handling the case said that this was no clerical error and that they intentionally took the drugs. No it couldn't be! Not the individuals that are suppose to protect and serve; they wouldn't do such a thing! Of course they would and this is not the first and it definitely won't be the last time we hear something like this going on. We live in a corrupt society so of course the people that are suppose to be up holding the law must have a few corrupt ones in their fold. The thing that kills me about these situations is that it involves corrupt law enforcement and the special treatment they are given. After the two officers were arraigned they were let go on their own recognizance. A journalist who covered the story said "The are no pictures or video of the suspects because they were whisked out of the courtroom through a back door just minutes after the judge released them on their own recognizance." Now, had this been one of our favorite rappers or someone who means a lot in our community or even you or me, the circumstances would have been so much different. Had this been one of us, first off we would still be in jail or would have had to post a large amount for bail. Secondly, our pictures and video footage would have been posted everywhere from the news to youtube. More and more we are seeing how crooked our so called justice system is. We already know that there are two sets of laws in this country but now they are just putting it out there like "Yeah we did it and what; you can't do anything about it." This division was under investigation before they probably found two scapegoats to say "Yes we caught the dirty ones." Believe me there are some more important people doing much worse, but they are all well protected and we will never find out who and what is really going on. This is just my opinion.
