The consideration of being a Hip-Hop legend is an honor and bestowed upon iconic musical geniuses in history. The elements of a legendary artist or artists consists of original distinguished material that fans may relate to and enjoy the lyrical subject matter above the eclectic beats. The emcee and the producer, sought out for a mission to entertain, inspire, and preach. This major accomplishment is what comprises the true definition of Hip-Hop legendary status. One group of artists is the only group to have sold over 35 million units worldwide, they have respectively acquired that title through the pure evidence of their amazing track record. They reached celebrity status overnight and claimed the throne to the Midwest with just their debut and sophomore albums alone, both reaching platinum sales in a very short time. With their harmonizing life-inspired, fast paced vocals, the vibe they give you is impeccable, these mid-west iconic legends are undoubtedly Bone Thugs N Harmony. With a brand new studio album on the verge of release, anticipation is rising at an all time high, as fans patiently await the arrival of Strength & Loyalty.

24hourhiphop.com recently caught up with Bone Thugs N Harmony in one of their long awaited concerts to hit Florida. This concert was well-worth the wait. While performing for a concert in Ybor City’s Cuban Club, we finally got a chance to sit down and have a one on one with the legends of Hip Hop: Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, and Wish Bone. First Off, thank you for taking the time to chill with 24hourhiphop.com

24: The fans have been wondering for a while now, what’s been going on with Bone in these past years?

Layzie: I mean, basically we’ve been on the road touring, we do a lot of touring, we’ve released a couple of independent albums, but right now we got the new album coming out, May 8th, it’s called Strength & Loyalty. We been working on that and on the road with that, so the new single we got out with Akon, it’s called I Tried and them Bone boys we never stop working, baby.

Wish: I mean, you know, basically, we were just in the cut chillin’ for a little while, you know doing our little underground thang, like Layzie said, you know, still in the studio. We always touring, we on the road 24/7, so you know, then we hooked up with Swizz Beatz and then from there we went to Interscope and we’re back.

Krayzie: Layzie and Wish said it all for me.

24: I’m hearing that your album Strength & Loyalty is slated to release on May 8th, 2007, this is probably your most anticipated album up to date. Can you tell us a little bit about it? Just like me, I know the fans are real eager to know.

Krayzie: Well this album, you know what I’m saying, is called Strength & Loyalty, it’s in stored May 8th like we said and I really feel that it is really like one of our best albums because, you know, like we have so much pressure, so much doubts, and so many people betting against us, and that’s what really fueled us to go in there and make the album we made, just because of all the doubters, all the haters. It gave us something to drive on, it gave us something to throw back in their face like, fuck ya’ll.

24: Isn’t there a movie also on the verge of release? Can you give us a little something about that?

Wish: Yeah, we got a new movie coming out, right now it’s titled I Tried, basically, you know, telling about our story with a little twist, there’s a lot of truth to it, it’s a little screenwriting to it, too. It’s basically about us, what if we never met Eazy E when we got to L.A. on the one way bus ticket, what our lives might have been like. So, you know, it’s off the hook, it’s our acting debut, it’s our first movie that we really got into, that we got something to do with and it’s ours, and it’s off the hook.

24: Can you explain to us how the whole Full Surface, Interscope deal came about?

Layzie: I mean, basically you know, we’ve been dealing with Swizz Beatz for about 2 years, well almost 3 years now, so you know, Swizz called us up, knew we were trying to work out and get a deal and everything, we started ridin’ with him about 2, 3 years ago. Sometime after we did the last song with Mariah Carey, Interscope got interested in Bone Thugs N Harmony and since we were ridin’ with Swizz already, you know, it ended up being a Full Surface, Interscope thang. So, I mean, that’s how it is, you know, loyal dudes stand down with each other, period.

24: So right now, let’s get a little more in-depth into the history of Bone Thugs N Harmony.

Krayzie: I mean, man, everybody should know about Bone, I mean if they don’t, we’ve been in the game 13 years, and you know, I mean, man, we still way here doing what we do. I mean, we paved the way for a lot of artists, there’s a lot of people out there that’s doing our style that really ain’t admitting that they doing our style. I think we influenced like half, maybe most of the game and the style that’s out right now. That’s why it’s so easy for us to come back into the game, we feel that everybody is doing what we did a couple years ago, so it’s like we still here, still in effect, for real.

24: Krayzie and Wish, fans are wondering, what’s up with the Thugline Movement?

Wish: Oh man, the Thugline movement going real good, you know, we just been waiting on everything to come together, you know, with the branch, with the real tree, which is Bone Thugs N Harmony then we going to branch out and let the branches grow. We got a lot of artists coming out on there, we got another independent movie we’re shooting too on there, straight action. We got about 5-6 artists setting up, plus my first solo record is going to come out on Thugline Records, which is our label. So basically, it’s in the wraps, we’ve been working on it, getting it together and waiting for the right time.

24: Krayzie, there’s a buzz going around that Thugline is releasing a version of a Mixtape called “The Fixtape Vol. 1.” Can you explain a little bit on that?

Krayzie: Most definitely. That’s a mixtape I’m working on right now it’s called “The Fixtape: Smoke On This.” It’s like the official Krayzie Bone mixtape but I got a lot of Thugline Artists on it and it’s going to be off the hook. Being that it’s one of our first mixtapes, like actual mixtapes. It’s the first time we did this, so everybody need to be looking out for that, it’s coming real soon.

24: Now, Layzie, how is the Mo’ Thugs Movement going and when can we expect another Mo’ Thugs Project?

Layzie: Well, I mean, the Mo’Thugs Movement is going strong, it’s basically in the same position as Thugline, like we were waiting for the right time to get Bone Thugs N Harmony back on track, but we got Felecia’s Album, she’s performing with us tonight. Her album will be slated up for the end of this summer, around autumn. I got the Emmortal Thugs and Ken Dawg coming, so we doing our thang, like all these years, we been just collecting our music and stacking up our libraries. We most definitely ready to go now that the Bone Thugs N Harmony movement is back on track. But like I said, the first album we coming with is Felecia’s, Emmortal Thugs, and Ken Dawg. We just going to hit them with different angles, we trying a little bit of everything. So the movement is strong, baby.

24: We all know the status acclaim that both Krayzie and Layzie received on their solo albums, when will we get a chance to hear a solo joint from Wish Bone?

Wish: Yeah, like I said, you know, my first solo album is coming out on Thugline Records. We just waiting on the right time to do it, I know all the fans are waiting on it, they love Big Wish, I love ya‘ll, too and trust me it’s coming, it’s going to be all the way raw, straight street, ya’ll know how I am. It’s going to be going down, I ain’t going to have nothing but straight gutter, features going to be really like some underground shit, but we gonna try to take it main stream. It’s coming though, trust me.

24: 35 million units sold and definitely a whole lot more to down in history, how do you feel about that?

Wish: (laughing, in joking terms) Oh man, that’s great, that’s so great, we love that right there.

Layzie: Man, it’s a blessing, you know what I mean, like we blessed to do what we do, we love, we make a living off of and we take care of our families. But it’s just a blessing, you know we going to stay humble about it, but you know, it’s niggas they know it’s off the hook, you know what I’m saying, they already know……….35 million, biatches!

Krayzie: I mean, just like he said, we look at it like a blessing, I mean, we all the way from the hood and to be able to come from where we come from and travel the whole world and see what we see and have the success that we had, it ain’t nothing but a blessing, that’s just all we can say, it ain’t nothing but a blessing.

24: I am really amped about this performance tonight at the Cuban Club, can you tell us how this whole event came about?

Wish: Oh man, I mean basically, by us promoting our new album, you know there’s a lot of people that came to the table. And we got the new single out there with Akon and with our manager, and like we said we always on the road and our booking agent, the booking agency keep us out here and basically they came to us to get us out here and be apart of this modeling thang and this whole movement in the summer time, right after spring break.

Krayzie: Man, we’re real excited to be out here, you know, we going to do our thang. We going to put it down. People going to see a show like they ain’t never seen before from Bone. It’s always something different, we always got energy and we always delivering hits, classics, all the time.

Layzie: (singing) Always and Forever. Please believe it. What Krayzie said.

24: I really appreciate the time you’ve giving us, do you have any last words for your fans?

Layzie: I got some last words, but for real though. Keep God first, stay humble in your heart, try to do your best, practice on excellence, you know, all them thangs that make you great. You know what I mean, they the hardest thangs in the world to do, but you gotta do it, so if you want to go get it, you know, keep your head up, praise God, peace out, Lil Layzie Bone, L-Burna, what you thought, muthafucka!

Krayzie: Do what you love to do, and just like Layzie said, keep God first, cause without God, you ain’t got nothing. Bottom line, you always gotta keep him first.

Wish: Krayzie and Layzie basically said everything. But we gonna end it like this, Bone Thugs, we love ya’ll, sorry about the intermissions between the albums, May 8th, Strength and Loyalty coming out, the movie I Tried, ya’ll check that out and we love ya’ll……
