The true definition of a Hip-Hop legend is one who defies the decrees of music by taking it
to a higher elevation and becoming an iconic figure in their own rite. By
changing the face of Hip-Hop, this icon took the industry by storm and became a
household name before the release of his debut album. Known for his versatile
flow and his vivid life-inspired lyrics, his alias and his real name hold the
same initials. His alias alone is the definition of the visualization of
death.
Published author and legendary rapper, this is the
reintroduction of C-Murder. He is
back like he never left, but this time, he's screaming for vengeance. Let him

24: How is
everything as of late with the infamous C-Murder?
C-Murder:
Everything good with me right now, I'm excited about the new projects we got in
the lab with the artists on the label.
24: You mentioned
artists on your label, you want to name them.
C-Murder: Well,
first I got the Cutt
Boyz. The group the Cutt Boyz is Me, G-Dinero,
and Max Minelli. We rockin' with them right now and they coming out
after me. Then after them, we got Versatile, one of my homies from New
Orleans, he crucial, ya'll look out for him after the Cutt Boyz. There's
also Tomeka and Junie B. We got a nice clic going here, just
letting ya'll know, ya'll going to be seeing us real soon.
24: As a
successful rap artist and accomplished author, what's up next for you?
C-Murder: Man,
like I said, the True Colors been
popping off, I got another book that's going to be coming out. But right now I
got a novel with Jacki-O called Grown & Gangsta, that's gonna be
droppin' next month, so ya'll be lookin' for that there, but at the same time
with these novels we've been getting introduced to homies that wanna put a
movie out for us, so everybody putting their deals out on the table so we got
flicks coming around the corner too, ya heard me. Out right now, we got the
Movement DVD, so ya'll go get that in stores now.
24: With
everything that's going on, where do you find the inspiration to record?
C-Murder:
Inspiration comes from everything I've been through in my life and stuff like
things that are going on in society, the current events. That's a lot that
needs to come out. That gives me that boost cause when the beat starts, I just
let loose. Then my homies that did the sound from 2Deep Music, they give me the beats I need, the beats that bring in
out of me, brah, so you know.
24: Let's talk
about your albums from past to present, you have always been real vivid with
your lyrics, would you say that the subject matter in your music went through a
change?
C-Murder: Let me
put it like this here, the time change is always me and my attitude and the way
that I come on that real; that will never change for nothing. Whatever I do, I
do to the dome. But at the same time, every year you gotta step your game up,
it's been a couple years since I've dropped so I've been through distractions,
but between me and my producers, I had to get back to that level and now it's
time for recording. I'm on a whole other level right now; I got my album and my
first single.
24: When is your
first single going to drop?
C-Murder: My single
is called One False Move, it's with
me featuring Akon, to be that single
dropped today as a matter of fact. Everybody at Tru Records, we started shipping out today and we'll be shooting a video
in a couple of weeks.
24: Your new
album, what elements will we get to hear from you now and when will that grace
the world?
C-Murder: You
know the name of the album that's coming up is called "Screamin' for Vengeance"
and that's dropping in March, the single is poppin' off right now, so ya'll
request that on the radio. I'm hitting it from all angles, it's basically a
Universal record, you can play it while you ridin' out, play it while you
workin' out, you can play it in the club, it'll get you crunk and put you in
the zone, that's my signature music. You can even get gangsta with it, straight
up. I got my homie Slim Thug on
there, Pimp C on there, Papoose, Krayzie Bone, and all the homies on Tru Records.
24: We all know
that you and Pimp C were real close, you did song about him called R.I.P. How
did his passing reflect on you?
C-Murder: It hit
me hard, man. Me and homie were close, when he came home, first thing he did
was reach out to me and see what I needed. We were even talking about putting
together an album, me and him together. We were going to do that and then boom
that happened. It hit me hard so I had to stretch my pain in that song. I had
to express the close relationship we had as artists and the things he did for
me.
24: What
producers are you working with on this next masterpiece?
C-Murder: Main
thing, I start off in house, that's my thang right there. Beats be crucial,
lyrics be crucial, you know that signature C-Murder trade. Then I step to a
couple of homies too, I might not have heard of them, but when you hear these
tracks on this album, you gonna reach out to New Orleans, 2Deep, 2Much, and Mannie Fresh, I did something with him to. Check it out.
24: Besides this
new album, what future projects are in the works for the legend C-Murder?
C-Murder: For me
wise, you know, the main project I'm working on, I started a foundation called Help Me, Help You, where we're trying to
rebuild the gym in the Calliope Projects
where I stayed at. After that Katrina they blocked all that off and these kids
ain't have nowhere to play or no nothing, so they gonna get in trouble, I'm
trying to intercept that and bring that back to the community.
