Not many super producers in the music industry are still under rated but I think J.R. Rotem still doesn't get the credit he deserves for making timeless music. Some might say he has not has the huge singles until recent with Rihanna "SOS" or his own artist Sean Kingston "Beautiful Girls" & "Take You There," but I would like to judge him own his work with 50 Cent "Position Of Power," Rick Ross "Push It" and "The Boss," The Game "Doctors Advocate," Fabolous "Can You Here Me" to Lil Scrappy's "Living In The Projects." So after two weeks of grinding, networking and a mutual friend of a friend I got a phone interview done with the one and only J.R. Rotem……….

24: When I first heard your production on 50 Cent's Massacre album I knew the world had a problem, did you think "Position Of Power" was going to open the door for you in the Hip Hop world?

J.R. Rotem: That's one of my personal favorites and a lot people think still to this day that beat was a sample. I also have to mention that 50 Cent really took that record to another place as well as "So Amazing."

24: Your first artist Sean Kingston has become a household name and I think that's what you saw in his music when he was harassing you on myspace and you heard his music for the first time (lol)?

J.R. Rotem: Definitely, his music was universal and I knew I could direct him and we could make great music that anyone can listen to. Our track list shows the results from "Beautiful Girls," "Me Love" and "Take You There" which has taken over the radio.

24: Not a lot of producers that start a label and put out an artist becomes successful, so did you feel any pressure?

J.R. Rotem: I just like to do music and let every thing else follow. Pressure is something a lot of producers place upon themselves for no reason instead of just making great songs.

24: Speaking of taking over the radio you recently did a record with Rick Ross for his second album "The Boss" which features T-Pain. I think it's a huge record and sounds like nothing that's out now?

J.R. Rotem: I like to create music not mimic music and Ross is a great artist and I think this year will be his break out year.

24: I think your production is at its best when you do those dark but up-tempo tracks like Rick Ross "Push It," Fabolous "Can You Hear Me" and The Game "Doctors Advocate"?

J.R. Rotem: I think the best thing about me is that I can actually do both a label or artist can work with me and do a track that will be big on the radio and one that will be emotional driven.

24:  What advice would you give to up and coming producers?

J.R. Rotem: Try to find your sound and follow your heart. Try to find a good support team and make music that can last through time.

24: What's the future looking like for you and Beluga Heights?

J.R. Rotem: Thanks to the success of Sean our future is looking really bright and we plan on leaving a bigger mark with his next album. I am also working as far as my production goes.

24: We'll thank you for the phoner and I wish you the best any last words for the readers?

J.R. Rotem: Sean Kingston album in stores now, keep supporting the new single "Take You There" we need that #1 on all countdowns radio to video. Hit me up on my myspace either me or my team will receive it www.myspace.com/jonathanrotem.
