NASTY BEATMAKERS: HITMAKERS
24: Who influenced you guys to start producing? Nasty: Pete Rock and Dr. Dre were some of my biggest influences coming up. LV: Once I got into producing I would say Dr. Dre and The Neptunes really influenced me. 24: How did you end up getting your first major placement on Ludacris 2003 album "Chicken & Beer"? Nasty: Me and Ludacris manager Shaka Zulu were friends and he pretty much took me under his wing and we became good friends and he started helping me place records on other artist albums and one day he heard a beat I did and thought it would work best for Luda and played it for him. 24: Who are some of the people you guys have been working with lately? Nasty: Lil Weezy, of course everyone should know that we did 3 records from the "Father Like Son" album. Right now we are working with Rick Ross and also produced the first single for 8Ball & MJG latest album. Also we have been working with Juelz Santana lately. 24: You guys have a very long resume but I want to know which record are you most proud of to date? LV: I would say our first placement with Ludacris the Intro for his "Chicken & Beer" album it was very versatile and had a lot of elements to it. 24: Who are some artist that you have not worked with as yet that you would love to get into the studio with? LV: For me I would like to start doing some more R&B records and possibly get into the studio with Keyshia Cole. I really like her stuff and what she brings to the table. Nasty: I would really want to work with Jay-Z, which is every producers dream!
24: What would you say are the keys that has made you guys successful so far? Nasty: With me is just being able to do different genre’s of music, our family background was into a lot of different music from Jazz, R&B, Hip Hop, Rock, Pop, Gospel, so I feel like that has made us very rounded producers. 24: The next question is for Nasty; do you plan on managing other producers or artist outside of The Runners? Nasty: I am always looking for talent, and as far as producers I don’t want to have too many in my camp but I do want a couple and I am actually looking at a duo called Oddz & Endz they produced my joint called "We Really Do This" featuring Mims, Red CafÈ, and Currency so I might be doing something with them. But right now it’s all about Nasty Beatmakers and The Movement along with looking for talent because that’s how you build your empire! 24: You guys have any plans on starting a label in the near future? Nasty: Right now I have a label with my boy Decari, it’s called Vidal Entertainment and we have an artist name Showboy so yes definitely. Right now were helping his development so as soon as he’s ready to hit the world were going to go in and drop some bangers so stay tuned. 24: What’s next in line for you guys? Nasty: Placing these records and working with these big name artist, I got a family to feed to I have to pay these bills. 24: Anything you want to promote? Nasty: Check out my video for "We Really Do This" along with me and my homie DJ Khaled in the new Ricco Tizio adds everywhere.
