24: What made you want to sign with Def Jam because I am sure with your resume you could of got a deal from a lot of other labels also?

The Dream: Yes, they were other offers on the table but I had a good relationship with LA Reid and Jay-Z and I felt like who would not want to get with a team like that. Those to along side what I do, you can't get that anywhere else.

24: Let's get right into the album its called "LoveHate" explain the title for me along with your name?

The Dream: I feel like in this game your going to get love by some and hated by others it's always a Love & Hate relationship in this game as well as in life.

24: What separates The Dream from from other artist/songwriters?

The Dream: I bring those #1 billboard chart records, I write songs that can reach the masses and that people can relate to at the same time.

24: Tell me if I'm wrong but I'm starting to feel like labels look at songwriters turned artists similar to producers who comes out with rap album for example Kanye West where Damon Dash felt like at least the beats will come out hot and he can put other Roc-A-Fella artist on the album?

The Dream: I agree but at the same time I think its just going back to the way it use to be when the average R&B artist were writing and singing as well.

24: Where do you get your inspiration from when you write those smash hits like Rihanna's "Umbrella", J Holiday's "Bed" to your hit single "Shawty Is A Ten"?

The Dream: I have been doing music for a while now, I was actually in a group before but it did not work out and I became a songwriter. Music is in my blood and all I need to do is hear a beat and I'll start thinking of a melody and then put lyrics to those melodies.

24: Did you shoot the video for "Shawty Is A Ten" as of yet or are you in the process of that right now?

The Dream: Yeah, we shot the video but its actually the remix with Fabolous and the video came out really great so I need all the fans reading to vote it on all of the video countdowns to #1!

24: Have you ever been in a situation where you were writing for another artist and thought about keeping the song for yourself?

The Dream: Lol, sometimes it happens man, I can't even deny it.

24: Tell me song that you did not write that you wish you wrote?

The Dream: Alica Keys "Fallin", I think that song will go down in history man and when I listen to it I get the chills every time.

24: Are you open to working with up and coming producers or do you have a main core of producers that you always work with?

The Dream: I have my main core of producers but I am also open to working with who ever has those records and has a good work ethic because every big name producer started out some where.

24: As a writer I meet a lot of up and coming songwriters that don't know how or where they should send their songs so from your experience what advice would you give them?

The Dream: If you can't actually get to the artist get to the manager or the artist DJ, I also think publishers can help a songwriter branch out also. Being a songwriter is no different as being an artist you still have to create a great project at the end of the day.

24: We'll thank you for this interview and I wish you the best any is there any last words you want to get out to the readers & fans?

The Dream: My video is currently out so please support that and the album is on the way LoveHate.
