Fishkill, NY - Akon attended the Fishkill Town Court earlier today (Dec.3) for his allege fan tossing incident in a concert that occurred in June. He pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a minor and harassment.

A woman that attended the concert came forth and complained about a sustained concussion when the boy he tossed into the crowd fell on top on her. Akon’s lawyer, Benjamin Brafner left this statement to reporters:

“It was never Akon's intention to violate the law. This unfortunate incident was a spontaneous reaction during a live concert that Akon deeply regrets.”

After winning an American Music Award for the Soul and R&B category, plus several hits under his belt, this is the last thing he needs on his plate.

If convicted, he faces a maximum one year sentence in prison.
