C-Murder will have his trial pushed back to June 9 due to problems concerning witnesses.

According to The Associated Press, the prosecutors and defense attorney in the case asked to push the court date back to June 9 after meeting privately in the chambers of Judge Martha Sassone. The case was scheduled to go to court on Feb. 11.

C-Murder (real name Corey Miller) was convicted of second-degree murder in October of 2003 for the beating and fatal shooting of clubgoer Steve Thomas, 16, in Harvey, La. The conviction carries a mandatory life sentence.

In March of 2006, that ruling was overturned by the Louisiana Supreme Court, who accepted Miller's request for a new trial because prosecutors withheld background information on three defense witnesses.
